Description
Another spot for a photo opportunity in the heartland of Kelly country.
Today we visited Glenrowan to get a feel for the history of Ned Kelly and were immediately drawn to the giant Ned Kelly on display outside the post office.
If you ask at the Post Office they have a self guided tour sheet they can give you so you can take a tour around town to see 8 Glenrowan Heritage Siege points of interest.
The Glenrowan Heritage Precinct has been included in the Australian Government's National Heritage List.
To log a claim, please take a photo of yourself or a member of your team with Ned Kelly in the photo or take a photo of giant Ned with your GPSr in the shot.

Ballarat Geo-Tour Trip
Day #4 of 4 (18/9)
It time to head home. It has been a great few days away in Ballarat it is very hard to leave. This is due to all the caches, I didn’t have time to find. Anyway, I packed up the ute and left about 8am to head home. My main focus for today is to find the occasional cache I was passing by and to stop off in Glenrowan to see ‘Ned Kelly’. After my drive/walk around Glenrowan, it was time to head home. It was a great day for the drive home. TB visit. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found today and for allowing them to bring the Geocaching community enjoyment. TFTC’s
I was here for the AL point but I couldn't say no to another two finds. They were this one and GA12258. Required photo taken and uploaded with log. Thanks for bringing me here.

Such a tight little cluster of GCA caches in Glenrowan I couldn't see this one. However, I knew it was here and grabbed a pic with Ned at the first opportunity. TFTV whitewebbs.

Wangaratta Mega trip Day 2. It has taken quite some time to get this trip going so it is a great feeling to be on the road for a great weekend away with great caching with friends and new friends. Today was a day in two parts. I spent the morning with Nibbletricecakes, Gliss! & Smitten Granny doing as many of the city LAB caches as possible. So much variety there. We did a few of the caches we came across along the way. The after noon we were joined by Fitzy_1965 & MinnieK and headed down to Glenrowan to do the Ned Kelly caches. We also did the labs in Glenrowan before heading back to Wangaratta for a few high D/T caches. This was a great way to spend the day before the Mega !
Thanks for the cache Whitewebs

After grabbing a late lunch at the nearby bakery [crappy tough scones] we walked to this one to get the required photo.
Love this town and its history. Thanks.

After taking a photo of the info boards for another cache I looked up and snapped Ned watching over the town.
Found this rogue on a beat the heat of the day bike ride from Wangaratta.
I wonder if Kelly's rifle really had a revolving magazine as shown on the statue.

We've visited this location on several occasions, love the history of the area. It's certainly helped to shape the character of the nation. Opinion is still very divided about whether he was a hero or a villain. I guess it depends on whether you barrack for the underdog or not. Thanks for an interesting virtual cache
