Description
A Cache placed at a great spot overlooking South Cape Bay
I have placed this cache at a little spot I have been to a couple of times now, it's just off the South Coast Track and has stunning view to the East, South and West.
From the South Coast Track turn off at S43 36.668 E 146 49.485 into a small clearing, from here follow a winding path that brings you out into the open and you can stand where you have clear views of Lion Rock to the West and Three Hillock Point to the East.
You are looking for a cammo'd 400ml Sistema Rectangular Container

Logs
Today Mr T headed off from Southport at 4.15 am heading to South East Cape.
He searched GZ for 15 mins but no sign of cache so with permission from CO he replaced the cache as per hint and covered it with a large piece of bark, left hand side of track looking south.
Excellent views on a glorious day.
Many thanks SSR for bringing us here.

Logging this cache as a Beta tester only 2 years after it was placed (I waited for the podium to be filled first).
I was here with the CO and 1toolman (who forgets to log most caches he finds) for my 4th visit to the bottom of the country.
Thanks SSR

Hi Stainless-steel-rat, I've never been beyond Cockle Creek, and the South Cape Bay day walk is one that I have wanted to tackle for some time, so when asked by AlbyDangles if I was interested, I decided to tag (lag?) along, despite my concern that my aging failing joints might let me down; and KingSmev was keen to join in.
We set off from the walker registration hut at 6.30am, under torchlight. There was a nice full moon, but often obscured by cloud and/or tree cover.
Got properly soaked from the quads down, due to the damp vegetation, especially on the narrow duckboarded sections thru the swampy plains.
When out, the moon was great, and as the sun began to rise on our backs, we were treated to a lovely rainbow.
We also spotted a pair of lyrebirds, but they soon disappeared before the cameras were out. The bushfloor trackside showed plenty of evidence of their presence though.
Finally arrived at the clifftop, took in the sights, and then descended down on the beach, slowly and super-cautiously made our way to the new GC cache. (Like that CO said, don't attempt that cache in the wrong conditions!).
Two long hours later saw us finally ascending back up the steps and we found a short-cut into this cache, KingSmev found it whilst older wiser heads were looking in the wrong places!
Then a brunchstop, (thanks for the coffee Alby), a bit of food shuffling as KingSmev had left his salad rolls in the fridge at home) a couple of pics, a chat to some incoming walkers, and we were soon beginning our walk out, nabbing a nearby GC cache along the way.
Very surprised at the number of incoming walkers, many seemingly ill-equiped.
Biggest walk I've done in a while, now very sore and tired and looking forward to a hot bath!
A great day, great company, joint find with AlbyDangles and KingSmev.

FTF after a long time unfound! The last time we were here was just over a year ago but we didn't have any GCA caches loaded onto the GPS. We were literally less than a meter away from this cache on our last visit but didn't realise it! Today we returned with a friend who was visiting us and made the find easily with good coords. It's a great spot with super views!
TFTC SSR!
Cheers,
