Description

A small cache containing all things cache like. Bring a fishing rod if you have an inland waterways licence or a child under 14.

A gravel road into this cache will place you on the banks of a popular trout (and atlantic salmon) fishery. Watch out for snakes, spiders, bullants....ah who am I kidding it's in the bush, of course there are going to be critters about.

17-Sep-15
Seems the CO is no longer caching. Shocked

17-Sep-15
We searched but had no luck. It would seem quite obvious that this cache is missing. Evil or Very Mad

28-May-15
Suggest this has been lost, refer Curried Trout 2 as a replacement. May need archiving

03-Oct-14
A quick find even though there were people fishing at the lake. Had never been in here before, didn't even know it existed. Cache container is damaged but didn't have a replacement on us, sorry. TFTC

24-Aug-14
Found this cache a while back when placing a cache close by on geocaching.com, cache container also needs replacing, But contents were nice and dry!

19-Jun-14
After failing to find an access point for Barren Shores (& hence missing out on a rather easy D/T grid tick), we were determined (or maybe just grumpy enough) to ensure we got something for all our time & effort coming this far. So we've "de-lurked" and opened our GCA account with this one. Not only was it easy to access (the term PnG comes to mind) but it pre-dated CO's other hide over yonder that is perhaps now locked up for all eternity. So I guess that's GCA-1, GC-0 Confused
A lovely lake, even on this drizzly day - & hence we had the place all to ourselves.

11-May-14
We knew about this spot so it was a quick easy grab and go. TFTC

15-Nov-13
Thanks for bringing us to this location, made a quick find, signed replaced and on the road again

03-Apr-13
Thanks for showing us this spot, didn't know it was here. TFTC

17-Nov-12
Great place to stop and skim some stones. Thanks for showing us a lake that we didn't know existed. TNLNSL TFTC.

Hi centurian Tas
This cache became a bonus as I was not planning to do it. Very glad I did. Haven't purchased a trout licence this year but wish I had had one today as they were rising just off the shore.
What a great place; never been here before but will return with the rod and the flies in the near future.
Found and logged the cached at 1120hrs.
A great day made this spot even more pleasant.
Thanks for first of visit, the cache and great water views.
Cheers OldSaint

22-Jan-12
It was a hot still day today and not a trout insite. Just to hot and the fish were to deep. Anyway back to the job, thanks for the cache.

03-Dec-11
It was quite windy here today, no fishermen to be seen. Found the cache easily, thanks for bringing me back to here!

02-Jul-11
Lots of water today a very pleasant spot to enjoy morning tea. Made a quick find, suprised no muggles about TFTC

26-Feb-11
Curried Trout sounds fine, bit of a change from the delightful Tassy Smoked Trout that I have been feasting on for the past few weeks, hope I can get it sent to the mainland when I leave next week. Easy find in a lovely location. Took slinky lizard as it is illegal to use skinks for trout fishing and left a new trolling lure. Thanks for the top spot.

26-Feb-11
Lovely spot and a easy find, only a couple of fishermen and 2 ginger Ridge backs nearby, track was a bit rough after recent rains. Container is disintergrating and is split though log was dry (plastic take away food box)

28-Nov-10
I don't know why I didn't come in here earlier - maybe because I was on my way to or from Stoney....
Never knew this was here apart from a watery bit on a map. Took some pictures on a skink sunning itself on a nearby rock.
TNLN, Thanks for bringing us here.

28-Nov-10
Once again great photo ops near this cache, including the little 4 legged guy guarding it. Found quickly and logged. Wish I had the rod with me though, could have got Swampy to stop for a llittle while. TFTC

29-Oct-10
Beautiful day for this cache location. Not much wind, and a fairly calm water. TFTC. Thought the area would be full of muggles, but none to be seen

17-Sep-10
Thanks to the excellent co-ords I did not even have to use the hint. Hopefully the next time I visit the weather will be more pleasant and I can stick around to enjoy the lake and surrounds. TNLN. TFTC!

13-Jun-10
Great drive through the back tracks from 'Going Bush' (note: rough and some quite deep holes on the way, not for 2wds or to try on your own, unless you are well set up like the gu is!)....anyway, nice little spot here, didnt spot any fish in the clear water, but we didnt have a rod either! TFTC

06-Jun-10
The gravel road into the area was quite reasonable and we were able to get in and out without any difficulties. Once near GZ the cache was easily located and a quick find completed. TFTC

24-Feb-10
No anglers about and I did not see any fish either. Cache was soon located and I was on my way. TNLN Thanks

28-Jan-10
Found with dean_erwin.

28-Jan-10
Easy find once we looked on the correct side of the road.

19-Dec-09
There were a few anglers about, but they were all up the other end; we had GZ to ourselves. Warm sunny day and nice peaceful lake. Thanks!

09-Aug-09
Probably not a real good one to attempt this close to the opening of the fishing season. Few young anglers were giving us some strange looks. One was very helpful though in giving us some alternate directions to reach the area of the other cache at this lake.

09-Jul-09
Last cache of the day
The fishing season is still 23 sleeps away so I had to just be content to watch the fish jump.
After finding a nicely hidden cache I packed away all my caching gear in the fading light, downed a few red bulls and set the GPS to 'Home' .... Time to Destination 3 hrs and 17 mins.
Another awesome day exploring and enjoying beautiful North Tassie.
Thanks for the cache centurionTAS

12-Apr-09
1st of 3 finds for the day during a nice Easter Sunday drive.

13-Feb-09
I detoured in late this afternoon for a look see at this fishy spot.
No fishing in progress today, so I had the place to meself while I searched for the cache.
I jagged it on the first cast.
TFTC.

24-Jan-09
Was well and truly dark when I arrived, all I could see is that the lake level looked as it might be low. Found the cache using the hint.
Thanks centurionTAS

18-Jan-09
No problems. Nobody around, only a car on the other side of the lake.

06-Jan-09
Found this one easily while the muggle was fishing,
Wish we had more time so I could have packed the fishing rod,
TNLN Thanks centurionTAS

01-Jan-09

After a game of golf with a few work mates nearby and a spot of maintenance on a couple of our caches, what better way to finish the day than grabbing a cache ‘find’ on the way home. Just a pity I never had a bit more time, and a fishing rod to wet a line in for an hour or so.
Thanks centurion TAS, great hide in a great location….TNLNSL

17-Oct-08
After being a bit busy so far this month it was nice to get out and do some caching with my 4yo, he found this quickly then we took the dogs for a swim.....Took something and left something (forgot what)

14-Oct-08
Must say that I've never been here before....quite a big dam...certainly looks fishy...and curried fish is certainly one of my favourite dishes. You guys are blessed with all types of fishing and all on the doorstep.Good hide with co-ords spot on. Many thanks again centurionTAS....TNLN...Cheers.

13-Oct-08
Yay, my first FTF and in a nice secluded peaceful spot. Nice hidey hole and co-ords spot on. Took stickers and left Pen (pencil in it broke its lead whilst I was using it). TFTC and congrats to CenturionTAS for their first hidden cache.
