While starting the last adlab in Longreach we noticed a silver mint tin on the ground. When we picked it up it turned out to be this cache so of course we signed the log and replaced the tin in a spot that matched the hint. This is a very interesting spot.

Thanks for this cache Tassie Trekkers. Hopefully it will remain inplace. The magnet appeared to be quite strong.

Wazza and the Wench are touring QLD for a couple of weeks. Driving from the coast out to Longreach then, without a definite plan, driving back to the coast.
Today we're in Longreach and have spent the morning at the Stockman's Hall of Fame. Afterwards, we spent a little time caching before a siesta.

A very quick find because it was poking out of it's hiding spot and was very obvious.

Nice marker for the Tropic of Capricorn. I've just discovered that the Tropic of Capricorn actually moves north at a rate of about 15m per year. I wonder if they ever move the marker to account for that?

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 91. Tully Day 5. Trains Day 5. Train from Longreach to Brisbane day 1. The train was leaving at 10am, so after a slight sleep in, I headed out for a bakery breakfast and then the LAB at the train station before waiting for boarding. We made it to Rockhampton just after midnight.

Whilst in Longreach I was happy to stop at this display to find a physical cache. Mind you I had to wait for a family to have their picture taken at the post before I could return the cache. A popular spot

Wandering around town before the train left this morning. I wouldn't have noticed that we were standing on the Tropic of Capricorn were it not for this cache! Not that I could tell the difference between one side or the other today!

Heading the long way home after 9 nights in Blackall Qld for QOGM 2019.
