Description

Kangaroo Bay - Bandstand

A short, family-friendly walk or bike ride from Bellerive to Rosny Point via Kangaroo Bay Regional Park will now yield a few caches. The scenic track takes in views of yachts in Kangaroo Bay and across the Derwent to kunanyi / Mount Wellington. A bridge over the yacht club slipway at Bellerive Boardwalk retracts when boats are moved in and out. Stop for a break, toilets available at the Park, have a picnic or bbq or to let the kids have a play then continue on past Rosny College through to Seabird Lane off Bastick Street, Rosny.

If you don't wish to walk, parking is available nearby for all the caches. Park in the car park off Cambridge Road, Bellerive to access this cache. Facilities and shops are available nearby. The kids may want to feed the ducks!

The cache is not at the listed coordinates.

Please use Mr Google to come up with the answer to this question.

When was the Australian TV show "Bandstand" released?    AB/CD/EF

The cache can be found at S42 52.(B-A) (B+C) (D) E147 22.(C-D) (C-D) (E-D)

This is a high muggle area, so stealth will be required. Please bring your own pen and replace as found.

Thanks Whitewebbs for hiding this cache. I solved it quite a while ago, but was focused on numbers on the other site. I am now working my way through caches hosted on this site.
Cache in good condition, a quick find when you are at the correct end of the pole. TFTC

After spending the morning caching on Knopwood Hill and attempting to do so by bike [failed - ended up pushing them most of the way]we were looking for somewhere to cache that involved a nice flat easy bike ride.
This area looked promising and even though we had ridden and cached here before there was still about a dozen we could hopefully get.
We solved this one last night and both remember being keen fans of Bandstand.
It was a quick find here despite many muggles in the area. At least with the bikes in front of us we could sit and pretend we were resting and the bikes partly obscured what we were really doing.
Thanks.

Thanks for the cache whitewebbs. Out for dinner nearby with AlbyDangles (who'd already found this) and a born again muggle. When we sat down at our table, it was suggested that I go out to find this whilst they watched. Geez, the things they want to look through the window at!
After dinner was finished, we wandered to GZ to make the find. Not too many muggles this evening.
Thanks for a nice little puzzle.

Checked, cache still in place

The hint didn’t really help, and even though I had the place completely to myself (Christmas morning), 15 minutes of looking didn’t result in me spitting anything.
I’m often blind, so I’m sure it’s just me.

Thanks for the cache whitewebbs. Out and about today with RLD4963 and the GeoGSP. As it was a grey drizzly day it was a good day for finding caches in high muggles zones, so we headed to GZ. There were still muggles about but the GeoGSP did a good job of distracting them as the cache was retrieved and returned to it's hiding place. Cheers

In the area to visit family and managed to grab the opportunity to have a look for this cache after solving the puzzle shortly after it was published. On a chilly Sunday morning we had the place pretty much to ourselves which made for a quick and easy find. Thanks whitewebbs for the puzzle and the cache

aus was a teenager when Bandstand first appeared on the TV - watched it and loved it. Thanks for the memories. We were a little concerned about looking for this cache as it is always a very busy area, but after a conversation with Old Saint earlier today he suggested and we used a method for finding the cache that didn't draw any unwanted attention from muggles. Thanks for the cache Whitewebbs.

After making excellent time this morning we found that we would have enough time to find the new caches in Kangaroo Bay before heading north to meet up with friends. We had solved the puzzle previously and knew where we should look. The area was very quiet when we arrived so we were able to search quickly and soon had the little container in hand. While we were signing the log some pint sized muggles arrived so we had to sit and wait for them to move on before replaciong the container.

Thanks for this little puzzle and the hide Whitewebbs. We are always interested to see the changes going on here. There has been much development since the days when Mrs Y'stassie caught the ferry - the old Cartella - to work and Mr Y'stassie was teaching at Rosny College.

Hi whitewebbs
After trying to sleep following my big day yesterday; constant interruptions from friends wanting me to play bowls, etc; gave up trying to sleep and headed to town
Arrived at the car park and the place was buzzing
Muggles every where, to add yo that difficulty, my GPS was all over the shop - waited for both to clear
Finally saw the cache which was Sainted at 1300 hours
Great place, great hide and another 6x
TFTC and cheers
