Description
A Geocache for Great North Walkers.
It's a Great Walk North The Great North Walk is a 250km walking track from Macquarie Place in Sydney to Bicentennial Park in Newcastle. After leaving Macquarie Place it continues across the harbour, through Hunters Hill, up along Lane Cove River and over to Thornleigh. It then follows Berowra Creek and climbs out of the valley to cross ridges and gullies on its way North. This section marks the eastern end of the plateau surrounding the Turner firetrail, just before the track plunges into the gullies of northern Berowra on its way across to Cowan. The cache is near a small lookout with a views across the gully to the northern fringe of urban Berowra. To the southeast are the exposed cliff faces of the Berowra Crag, often frequented by weekend climbers. At this point, you can sign not just one, but two logbooks. One is provided in a tin box on a post for all Great North Walkers. The other, hidden about three metres off the track, is just for special people. When placed, there was a small cairn immediately above the hide. Go down below and reach in. Please replace the retaining rock to stop the cache rolling/washing/blowing away.

Logs
Today the trail was like Pitt St with walkers and dogs, and I got to sign the other
log too. Climbing down and up wasn't as hard as it looked although care needed not to forget
the edge.
