Description

Luna Park is a Sydney landmark that has been around my whole life. It originally opened in 1935. An amusement Park that has highs and lows but its happy face still remains. I went there in the early '70s with a group of friends and those happy memories are still with me. Many years later there was tragedy with the Ghost Train Fire. But with a few more hiccups and closures, the Park has managed to reopen and remains open to this day. To log this cache just post a photo of Luna Park - the entry or from inside (and a memory of a visit there if you have one).

Spent a day in Sydney having fun.

Vivid was in full swing.

Managed to come across to Milsons Poiunt on the ferry.

Took a good look around Luna Park.

Just for fun!

Luna Park was closed today, but got a photo anyway. I’ve also included a night shot- taken while on a Harbour Cruise during VIVID.

We archived this during COVID lockdowns, but we feel with people travelling through the Bluies, its an appropriate time for it to be visited once again.

Despite being supposedly on leave this week, and also working from home when I am supposed to be at work, today I needed to grab some spares to fix something at Milsons Point wharf. So I had to get off at Milsons Point station anyway so took the opportunity to take the photo of this which was right where I needed to walk down to the wharf. Bonus cache during lockdown, thanks thomo31.

As kids we grew up in Canberra but I remember the occasional trip here when we came to visit my cousin who lived in Sydney. My most recent was a couple of Christmases' ago when work held their party here, which wasn't that exciting as most of the rides were closed.

#GA3665 - 21:10; Out on the harbour with the geohoney doing a dinner cruise to see the lights of ViVID and grabbed a couple of snaps of Luna Park as we passed. Enjoyed the couple visits we have made there over the years. TFTC thomo31 Very HappyClan Cerberus

Lucky for me there are not many GCA cachers on the North Shore so this one lasted a day or two for me to make the quick detour on my way home from work today. I don't get many FTFs these days! A much warmer afternoon and beautiful sunset made the trip extra worth it. Here is my unique angle Wink haha Cheers!
