Description

The physical cache is not at the published coordinates

Warrimoo is the next town after Blaxland when travelling west along the Great Western Highway. Warrimoo is a small town with a handful of businesses ideally situated on the Great Western Highway. The general store also acts as the local Post Office. Warrimoo is primarily residential with its own primary school located on Florabella Street.

The Great Western Highway was widened to four lanes in '97- '98. The end result is a significantly safer road and a vast improvement on previous conditions.

Visitors may wish to stop at the Antique Shop or even dine in the local restaurant.

The name Warrimoo is aboriginal for place of eagles or eagle's nest.

Adjacent to Warrimoo Station is Ardill Park, which a great resting place for the family.

On the opposite side of the railway line to the Great Western Highway you can take Rickard Road to Warrimoo’s Recreation Reserve.

At the reserve you will find Warrimoo Oval and tennis courts opposite Wycliffe Christian School.

Warrimoo is also known as ‘Blinky Bill Territory’ - as the Australian author of Blinky Bill lived in Florabella Street from 1934 to 1937
