Description
Wongan Hills Airport
The slogan ‘Only a picnic away' chosen because it represents the close locality to Perth, the picturesque drive to the town, and the ideal locations to stop and enjoy a picnic. The cache may be found on the 2.5km Christmas Rock Walk Trail. The rock wall once diverted water to a town dam. In spring see many colourful wildflowers and bushes, and listen to the many birds. Commence your walk at intersection of Wandoo Cr & Stickland St, just north of the Caravan Park...

Logs
I wondered why there were two caches at GZ. One an archived GC one and this one. Lucky for me I signed both logbooks
Having only had 6 days off since Christmas I had a 2-day break for a change and decided to hit the road and log some caches, collect some moveables and see some sights. I headed off early and the journey took me to Greenmount, Darlington, Wundowie to try and find my moveable there and on to Northam for a quick break.
I headed on towards Goomalling but ended up making a detour to Malabine back to Jenapullin to grab a gc cache which had me intrigued. I then headed across to Jennacubbine which has an amazing tavern, CWA and go kart track out in the middle of nowhere in the Wheatbelt.
From there I continued up through Goomalling and up to Konnongorring for a quick stop. Off into Wongan Hills to grab some caches before heading out to Mt Brown lookout. What an amazing view from there and grabbed some caches nearby as well.
From Mt Brown I travelled across to the Gt Northern Highway and headed down to New Norcia which now has a bypass around it, so it was very quiet there. I could get out of the car and wander along the road and not one car came past amazing. From New Norcia headed on down to Bindoon to grab some caches and then eventually made my way back home.
So I ended up out for 10hrs and lots of km’s and a great day was had all round with lots of caches in tow and lots logged as well.
I parked up in a different location and found a shorter route around the track to the cache. I found it very easily and also signed the log of the cache next it. Oh and i can claim second to find... Thanks for the cache and bringing me here Lazarus_68.

Chwiliwr and I went for a long hot drive out into the wheatbelt today to pick up some moveable caches, a few trigs and a couple of traditional GCA caches. There was a couple of GC caches in their as well. This was one of them.
Was a bit of a hot walk for me but we got there in the end. Found the two caches with the GCA one being *FTF*.
Thanks Lazarus_68 for the cache.

The better half and I went for a drive in the wheatbelt doing mainly GCA caches.
This was on the planned course we had set so called in to find it even though by the time we got here it was lunchtime and getting too hot to be comfortable on the walk. Took plenty of fluids and took it slowly. By the time we got to the rock and ground zero we were quite tied but the wind was not so bad here so we cooled down slightly.
Again we were disappointed that we were did not find a 'regular' size container and also think that it was a bad idea to co-host your cache even with an GC one even if it is now archived as GC cachers still go to archived ones.
On looking at the GC log sheet this one apparently is one I didn't do when it was active so signed the archived cache log sheet as well.
Blank log signed on the GCA cache so joint *FTF*.
Both caches returned as found.
Thanks for the cache.
