Description

ICEM - (Little) Billabong.

This cache is part of the I've Cached Everywhere, Man (ICEM) project, a series of Geocaching Australia caches in Australia.   The series had it's first airing in 2011 and in 2018 Geocching Australia started promoting the series again in the hope the number of caches in the series can be increased.

The series is made up of the locations made famous by Lucky Star in the song "I've been everywhere" in 1962, lyrics by Geoff Mack.

Little Billabong is a village community in the Southern NSW.    It is situated by road, about 17 kilometres west of Kyeamba and 26 kilometres east of Holbrook. At the 2006 census, Little Billabong had a population of 466 people. Little Billabong Post Office opened on 1 October 1874 and closed in 1953

After having been in Wagga all morning completing various job, I decided on going for a drive around the country side collecting some of the new caches which has popped up over the past few months. I started by heading south and finding a couple along the way which included a ‘Sidetracked’ cache before heading north along the Hume Hwy. The last time that I remember being along this part of the Hwy was long before I started Geocaching. So I made sure that I found everything along the way. I arrived in Gundagai and found a few newer caches around the area before heading home. It was a great drive and I hope to do another trip very soon. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. Big Grin TFTC’s! Big Grin

I'm slowly starting to 'Cache Everywhere Man'! Another one added to the find list of this series, making my total five. On approach of GZ, I guess where it would be hidden and after parking and walking over to it, I was right. A nice quick find here and now off to the next one. Big Grin

We were heading north on the Hume Highway so any GCA cache within 5k was added to our route. We had planned our trip before Battleships was announced. This caused a little dilemma - do we re-organise so we were passing lots of caches during June or do we follow our original plan. We decided not to have GA games dictate how we cache so we are sticking to the initial plan. Hence we will log GA caches as we come to them.

This was a quick dash off the highway find cache then back on our way.

Thanks for this ICEM cache Sol de Lune. Container and contents were in good order. The ICEM series is our favourite so we rarely miss an opportunity to look for them.
