Description

No. 3 Creek Road Crossing

Here the LKR diverted south to lessen the steep gradient caused by Lancemore Hill. Lancefield was still a long way to the west, but it was all downhill to Kilmore.

This search was our most frustrating. we could see where other caches had walked around the site but we couldn't locate the container. We were not sure how to interpret the hint and the small flies were driving us mad. Finally one of us spotted something familiar and we had the cache in hand. after an encounter with a snake in long grass a week ago Mrs Y'systassie is a little wary of this style of hide.

Thanks for this cache Bob Tomkins. There are certainly many areas to explore around Lancefield.

Cache has been unarchived by the CO so is good to go.

This cache has shown up on the review list because it's had three consecutive DNF's logged against it.
Periodically we review caches that have a string of DNF's just to ensure the caches are still available.
If everything is ok we'll simply log an "Admin Review" so the cache drops off the review list.
If they're not available they may be archived so as to keep the database clean and tidy.
(The cache owner can always re-enable an archived cache by posting an "unarchived" log.)

In this case it appears the cache is not at the posted coordinates. Perhaps the cache owner can check on it and then post an "unarchived" log when it's ready to be found.

No sirree Bob, a good hunt around despite the rain still failed to locate this one Sad

A weekend trip to Melbourne to attend a few AFL games with LuckyL10n and Toy Hunters gave us he opportunity to head off the main road and try these new Geocaching Australia caches.

All 3 of us spent 15 minutes looking in different spots and anything that could have matched the hint. Alas nothing could be found and with the rain not helping, the decision was made to head off to the next one.

Thanks anyway.

No luck with this one today however it brought us to a spot we would never have visited or even noticed the now obvious embankment where the line ran.
Locations like this are 'the icing on the cake' of Geocaching with the locals hosting us anonymously to their favourite spots.
