Description
On Forest Hill Road where the road ends and there is only a place to turn around your journey would in the past have terminated at this point. But now you will find a track on the right that leads to Coastal Reserve, a small area that stretches between the Southern fence line and Mays Beach to the North.
This new access has a well-worn clear path that is sandy to start with, as it winds its way in between the fences South and North of the path for just over 600m before you reach the reserve where you will be treated to a view of Frederick Henry Bay.
This cache is hidden just a short way along the casement.

While out collecting caches in this area we were fortunate enough to see a pod of dolphins very close to the shore. Thanks for bringing us to this area. TFTC
After deciding to walk and not ride this track we headed off and soon reached GZ. Our botanical knowledge is poor but we now know what a native cherry tree is!!
Log was a bit damp but quite signable. The track to this point was quite flat but it got a bit steeper not long after this one.
Thanks.

Hi gooseandegg, thanks for the cache, the walk and the views.
Yeah, right, the good ol'native cherry. Let's just leave it at that!
As it turns out, my 2nd last find for the afternoon.
I needed to do a drop-off and pick-(back)-up at Orana today, with about 90 minutes in between - so I decided to walk out this way, as I've not been here before, and there are a few GA and GC caches hereabouts.
Thanks for the adventure; cheers, EPs.

quick find while out caching with GooseandEgg I was here when he placed it in fact

Found after time spent alternating between family duties and caching, gotta grab a chance when you can. mr sharnie's tribe isn't able to walk far at the moment so will have to come another time to go a bit further down the track. TFTC
Nice track to walk on and ride/push on too.
Took a couple of minutes to find the right angle.
Thanks.

Journey or Destination
Game Period: 01-Dec-2018 00:00:00 to 31-Jan-2019 23:59:59 AEST
It is sometimes said [citation needed] that the game of geocaching is not about the destination it is about the journey. This game is about the choices you make in the experience of the journey or the destination.
On your entry to the game you will be asked to create a playing field with a number of ground tiles. Your playing field is a grid 20 x 20 ground tiles making a total number of 400 possible steps you can take on your journey or destination. You choose whether you want to find and follow the path or whether you wanted to meander around. A playing field is unique to each player so there is no benefit in teaming up to beat the system through brute force.
For each qualifying geocache that you hide or find during the game period you will be offered the opportunity to click on a ground tile and reveal what lies beneath. There are a number of different ground tiles that will be revealed when you click on your playing field. It should be noted that there are no punishments for clicking a tile but there will not always be the reward you were hoping for as you reveal each tile.
Dirt. The ground beneath the ground tile is just plain old brown dirt.
Dirt with some points. The ground beneath the tile is brown dirt but it has some points associated with it.
Concrete. The ground beneath is part of the pathway that will lead you on your way to your destination but has no point value.
Start. A concrete ground tile that has a blue map marker.
Destination. A ground tile that has a green map marker.
Meandering around and avoiding the path will accumulate points that will be used to place on you the ladder of wanderers. The more you stay off the path the higher the number of points you will accumulate and it will be your journey that will be the determining factor in whether you place into a prize winning position. You are free to select any ground tile to click on; they do not need to be next to each other.
Trying to find the path may mean you strike out on the dirt until you eventually come across the path and as a geocacher who can't say that this isn't a tried and true method. Once you find the path however will you try and follow the path as it changes direction around your playing field? Do you go North, South, East or West to try and find the next concrete tile along the path? If you head one way are you heading towards the start or towards the destination? When you do happen upon the destination tile then you will automatically be in a winning position.
At any point you are free to change from the journey to the destination and vice versa but you won't be able to regenerate your playing field. You are also free to keep playing as long as you have qualifying geocaches, accumulating more and more dirt tile points and placing you higher and higher on the ladder.
Qualifying geocaches fall into two categories. Finds and Hides.
A qualifying find is a geocache that meets the following criteria:
The geocache is listed at Geocaching Australia
The geocache has a hidden date prior to the game commencing
The geocache was logged by you on the Geocaching Australia website during the game period
The geocache was physically found by you during the game period
The geocache is not owned by you unless it is a moveable geocache
The geocache has not previously been found by you during the game period
The geocache is one of the following types:
Burke and Wills
Moveable (you will qualify only once for a find on a moveable geocache)
Traditional
TrigPoint
Augmented Reality
Beacon
Gadget
Multi-cache
Night Cache
Podcache
Reverse
Unknown or Mystery
A qualifying hide is a geocache that meets the following criteria:
The geocache is listed at Geocaching Australia
The geocache has a hidden date after the game has commenced
The geocache was published on the Geocaching Australia website during the game period
The geocache has a container size of regular or larger (Note: A regular geocache has a volume of 1 litre or more)
The geocache is one of the following types:
Moveable
Traditional
Augmented Reality
Beacon
Gadget
Multi-cache
Night Cache
Podcache
Reverse
Unknown or Mystery
The game tracking mechanism relies upon your honesty when logging geocaches as found or hidden.
The games administrators will undertake verification of a statistically significant number of logs.
Players who continually log inaccurate information will be disqualified from the game. The game administrators decision is final.
The game administrators will subtract qualifying hide or find geocaches from your tally if they are found to be not genuine.
The game administrators reserve the right to provide clarifications to the rules at any point during the game.
Don't forget to claim your limited time game trophies, if your qualify, while the game is in progress. Once the game completes the ability to claim your trophies is lost for ever.

Hello gooseandegg thanks for the cache
When I was in the right spot I spotted the cache.
It could have been a lot harder, just lucky.

Even though rain had been forecast for today the morning was sunny and warm so we decided to make a start on cleaning up some GC caches that had been published while we were on the big island. We also needed 3 GCA finds for today.
After picking up a few on the way in we headed to this reserve as it has been some time since we were last in this area and there was a mixture of GC and GCA hides.
This was our first stop. Accurate coordinates meant we were able to spot the container on our first circuit of GZ. Container and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for this cache GooseandEgg we enjoyed our morning walk in this reserve where we saw the occasional wallaby and plenty of birds.

Thanks for the cache Gooseandegg. What a great afternoon to be out geocaching - clear sunny skies and no wind. I was really happy to see a series of caches published along this little track - I'd always wanted a reason to wander along it and see where it lead. The GeoGSP and I really enjoyed our walk, will have to come back again soon. A quick find, the log was soon signed and returned, cheers!

Hi goose
The only day I've got to myself this week so a day of caching
Arrived at the parking area and saw a familiar car parked but no cachers present
Was preparing to hit the track and voices echoed from near-by
Out of the trail head come Mr/Mrs Whitewebbs
We chatted for a good time, said our good-byes; as they drove off, I started my walk to the cache
At GZ, a quick find was made
Sainted the cache at 1021 hours
Co-ordinates were spot on
Now off to the next one
TFTC and cheers

**FTF** 8.38am
After deciding to complete some FTF for GC caches happened to look at the phone and see 2 GCA caches in the same area so decided "why, not".
Complete the FTF run in GC caches and then after getting a great view of the coast and a rising sun made the pleasant walk back towards the car.
Immediately picked the cache site and cringed but fortunately paused, looked around and spotted the location. Another blank page to fill in!

2nd to find. Nice to see another local GC cacher finding GCA caches. We saw lots of new cache emails when we awoke so thought we would head out to find the new caches on this new Coastal Reserve track. Since we were last here a few years ago access was through the road now marked private as it was a shared right of way to the track up the hill (which now has a lock on it). It is nice to see a direct route opened up without having to worry if you are on private property. Thanks for placing another lot of caches in a very scenic area. TFTC
