Description

Terry T-Rex

A moveable cache entered in the 2018 Spring Caching Carnival

Terry loves his photo taken. Snap some pics of Tezza as you travel around. He can walk, provided his batteries are charged - and he makes a bit of a noise, but if his batteries run out, no matter.

The T-Rex is known for it's sharp teeth, strong build and bloody useless little arms. What is the go with those little arms anyway. ...I've found one!, and that's to attach a bison tube to them. It looks like a little hand bag for this sexy little dino. So cute.

This cache is part of the September 2018 Summer Caching Carnival.

Rules of the game

  • Your Dinosaur Racer must be a genuine, bone fide dinosaur. It may be store bought or hand crafted. We recomend you clearly mark your GAnnnnn code on your Dinosaur Racer to distinguish it from 100 other identical Dinosaur Racers.
  • Caches for the competition must be published on 1 September 2018 Australian Eastern Daylight Time (Geocaching Australia Time).
  • Geocaching Australia has the facility to automatically publish your Dinosaur Racer on 1 September 2018. Check the wiki for how to achieve this.
  • The game administrators decision is final.
  • You may find and move your own Dinosaur Racer during the game period.
  • Dinosaur Racers must be found and hidden by the same geocacher (i.e. no mailing the Dinosaur Racer to another geocacher to hide).
  • There is no limit to the number of times a geocacher can find / move the Dinosaur Racer provided there are at least two other finds / moves in between.
  • If the Dinosaur Racer has not moved within 7 days and you were not the last geocacher to find or move it then the "rule of two other finds / moves" does not apply and you are free to move the Dinosaur Racer again.
  • If the Dinosaur Racer has not moved within 14 days, even if you were the last geocacher to find or move it then you are free to move the Dinosaur Racer again.
  • If a geocacher moves your Dinosaur Racer overseas and it remains unfound overseas for 1 week or more, the Dinosaur Racer mover may move your Dinosaur Racer back to the country of origin without breaking the "2 moves" rule.
  • There is no limit to the distance other geocachers can move the Dinosaur Racer.

Looks like this bloke is gone. He was a big fella, hard to miss. I imagine a muggle found him and hopefully gave him a good home.

Day 1 of a 5 day caching run around south east Queensland with LuckyL10n.

After flying in we grabbed our hire car and headed out for a few caches. We targeted a few moveables that have been around here for a while, but unfortunately, there was no sign of this little guy.

Thanks anyway Mattyrx...still a few to go.

Periodically the Geocaching Australia review team checks moveable caches that haven’t been found or moved in over 90 days.

This moveable fits that brief, however reading previous logs it seems to still be at the posted co-ords and is just sitting there waiting for the next finder to give it a go.

So, if you’re in area why not stop by and help it on its way.

Saw that there was a GC Aust near to home so I thought I would go collect my first one. Turns out there was more than one there.
Being new to GC Oz I didn't move them on, just signed the logs.

I have found Terry T-Rex. I am having such a fun time finding all these Dino's, each of them a little different. This big guy is just lovely and definitely the most vocal of the Dino's I have found thus far. I will move him along to continue his journey shortly.

Met up with gnome miner who had most moves a few years ago in gnome race. Gnome miner was originally from Perth. We had a road of a time and blank has new stripey tail. Moved with blank to a favourite hiding spot near work where there are a few other finders close. Dancing

Blank and I had so much fun last night . I was roaring away while blank was getting dolled up. We decided to hide together. When you park walk up the hill to see a big tree. Go around the back and you will see big rock. Enter to left of that rock and we are 2 steps in under big pile of sticks and leaves in black plastic bags. Thanks mattyrx for this great dinosaur DancingDancing

I caught Samboobear and Petan hiding these behind my house. We had a nice chat and a game of round and round the mulberry tree in my back yard Samboobear was joined by my forever furred bears and one of my cats for a photo session. After they all left I freaked my cats out by turning T-Rex on and seeing him walk and hearing him growl. He is still hanging out with blank canvasaurus but will part ways soon.I will have to find some larger hiding places for these 2. Tftc MattyRx Clan Phoenix

When we woke up this morning, Terry reminded us that it was time to move on, but it was really really raining at home and I told him I was worried about him getting wet. I know I don't like getting wet. He said he had been hunting around the house and found a very big snaplock bag he thought he could fit into which would stop the rain, and some big silica gel pouches which could help keep him dry.

"But won't that make you suffocate?", I asked. He told me he could hold his breath for a really really long time. I added, "you know it could be more than a week before you are found, can you hold your breath for that long?". He then went on to tell me that some of his relatives had been holding their breath for more than 80 million years. I didn't quite believe that, I had seen dinosaurs in the museum, so I told him that those relatives are dead, they are now extinct. His cryptic comment was "that's what we let most people think". Uh oh!

So I helped Terry into his bag, and made sure it was sealed very well. I also found another black mesh bag to help cover up the blue printing on the snaplock and we went for a drive north. We got to a place near a football oval where there had been another dinosaur in the last couple of days. We thought it might have been a good place leave Terry, as we were settling him into place, we hear a 'hello'. Its Sambuccasam! "Would you like to look after Terry T-Rex? He might look mean and scary (and yeah, his roar can be a bit much sometimes) but he really is a lovely friend."

Now Terry is in the very capable hands of a friendly cacher. Good luck Terry (and don't tell anyone your relatives are only holding their breath, it might cause mass panic).

Terry says its been too wet for the last couple of days to go hiding. Instead he has been stalking around the house. See https://youtu.be/bcUA37IgTjY
Yes that is a tiny cousin - stay tuned for details.

Some might say that Terry is terrifying and I should be afraid of him, but I found him to be a sweetie, although that need to roar is a little disconcerting.

I found him at the hotel, he asked about what went on inside. I am not 100% sure what happens in there, but I told him about going to Suzy's work Christmas Party at the surf club where Mr A kept on giving me lots of cold amber drinks that made me burp a lot, then I got a headache the next day. Terry said he didn't really want to get a headache (his roaring is giving me a headache), and could we take him with us. I said ok, but was worried that there wouldn't be enough dinosaurs left in Lismore until Megasorearse said we wanted to stay here and see if he could get a vegan meal later. So Terry and Mega swapped places and Terry joined me in the backpack on the backseat.

"Hey Terry, do you like chocolate? Coffee? This could be the start of a beautiful friendship as long as you can cut down on the roaring.

Thanks for the moveable MattyRX.

Terry starts his journey at a local watering hole - the G-Spot. Terry is unsure about exactly what happens in such an establishment.
