Today I took three hitchhikers for a wander through the Terraced Gardens at Island Bend. Well there were once magnificent terraced gardens here anyway. NPs removed all the foreign flora from the area. I remember walking through here about 30 years ago and there were still lots of different plants here, predominantly Lupins which were taking over the place quite invasively. My three companions liked the old garden ruins so much they decided to stick around for a bit.
Skeletosaurus thought sitting under the garden seat was more to their liking than on it. When I last saw Fred they were trying to play hide and seek in a tree hollow. And Happy was happy they found something to work on with their sledgehammer- I last saw them near what may have once been a pond that really did need fixing if it was meant to be one.
I tried taking photos of them at the last spot I saw them, but they all seemed a little camera shy, hiding from me. I've attached the photo anyway just in case someone wants to befriend them and needs help finding them. They are clever little hiders!
Have fun in your future travels little buddies.

The other week I was cleaning my car out and put aside Skellie and two other moveable caches ready to move on. However, currently staying at my daughters, I am not used to having little children around me, and one of my grandies saw them and started playing with them. I managed to rescue them all, but a few minutes later Skellie was missing. I have spent a number of days searching for this dinosaur but to no avail. I really hope it wasn't left near the dog and he thought it was a juicy pile of bones. I will continue to hunt Skeletosaurus down. We need to do a lot of tidying things up before Christmas Day so fingers crossed it shows up.
I'll report back after Christmas if it's still missing.

I found skellie again today. They've been resting here a while so I thought they might like to move along. Turns out they made a new buddy, Panda. They make perfect dancing partners. Haha.
This was the end of the line for today's adventure. Lots of little treasures we found along the way, besides moveable caches. A few pics attached.

Skeletosaurus is happy to have moved to a new location in a tranquil arboretum. His surroundings will give him lots of room to run around. His new home is a large tree which will keep him well protected from passersby. Thanks for the company.
I visited Schusters Park on the Gold Coast to find some dinosaur movables. I had found Panda Stream a couple of days prior but did not realise that Skeletosaurus was sharing the same tree hollow. Skeletosaurus had his head poking above the sticks and called out for attention. He is keen to meet up with friends and see a different part of the country. Thanks for the movable OldSaint.
Called in to Samboo Park today to see how my froggy, dinosaur and other movable friends were going.
Skeletosaurus said he was perfectly fine. He said that the recent heavy rains increased the size of the swamp temporarily but he is perfectly safe and is patiently waiting for a lift.

After resting at my house for a few weeks, Skeletosaurus decided it was time to move on. I mentioned to him that my park (Samboo Park, although the council calls it something else) had a great tree for hiding things. We've been calling it the Gnome Tree, but I am sure it would accommodate a dinosaur. After a walk through the park where I showed him where some of my other caches were hiding, he thought that the Gnome Tree would be satisfactory. He also didn't seem to mind when GA9630 Panda Stream decided to join him. Plenty of room he said.
Safe travels my friend.

Hello Skeletosaurus,
Welcome to the Gold Coast. Tonight is New Year's Eve, I'm sorry you won't have a good time since you have no body to go with.... hahaha sometimes I crack myself up.
I think I have the perfect spot for you in Samboo Park - everyone else calls it Schuster Park but I have quite a few caches there so am calling it mine!
Thank you for the moveable OldSaint

Moved this cache up into QLD – it’s with a stash of other caches that appeared in the Northern Rivers NSW a month ago. Full inventory at this location is:

I was on my way into town to buy some groceries and who should I find at the bottom of the driveway....it was Skeletosaurus in the hands of No Tomorrow. Since Skel was looking like he really needed a feed, I took him in to town to the shops looking for something to fatten him up a bit. I'll hang on to him for a bit and hopefully get him over the QLD border when it finally reopens.
Out this way to check out The Channon Markets for my first time. I was passing by here and my too-skinny travel companion heard there was a really cool car here and wanted to jump out to take a look. So out he popped and decided to stay.... for now at least.
Took a loooong detour home from work just to pick up this miniature big fella. I made him wave goodbye to his buddies (see image) and I think he got separation anxiety because he scratched me real bad (see other image). Nah, of course not. That was just an error in my judgement when placing his buddies back in their spot, and a reminder to buy glasses to replace the ones I lost. haha.
Why just one cache picked up? dZ research tasks of course... who knows what I'll get tomorrow. Maybe another dZ player nearby might need them for research too. haha. But for now, this bag of bones is coming home with me to get a decent feed. haha.

NO LONGER AT THE ABOVE COORDINATES AS I HAVE COLLECTED IT TO MOVE ON.
I was out caching and saw that some moveables that I hadn't seen and some that I had seen, had been left here so I have grabbed them to move interstate in the next week.

Saw these pop up in Belconnen, ACT and since I needed to get out of the house I did an evening run to find these caches (but not move them). I agree that particular spot - usually quite a good one given the access - is getting a bit yuk - maybe more of a meeting point these days.
Thanks for putting out the movable for me to enjoy this find evening.

Went out today to set these fellows free. Lovely spot. Watch where you put your feet, though, as I discovered when I returned to the car. Something yucky. Shoes are in washing machine as I write this.
Lovely afternoon for a short walk. Also a quick find! Thanks for the cache!

For a bit of a change from sitting in front of the computer solving jigsaws today, I managed to discover this and a few other Moveables in the hands of another cacher before they do move on. They aren't moving much during this period of isolation due to the COVID 19 restrictions which are being lifted gradually so it is good to be able to log these before they do. All available logs were signed and returned to the cache. Thanks OldSaint for this fellow .

Headed out a bit late to grab this one along with a couple of mates. No-one around at this time of night and the cache was soon in hand.

Skeletosaurus is ready to move on and is waiting close to Jacobs Creek
Found waiting patiently by the garage door with a mottled collection of moveables all hoping for an adventure. Will be off and out soon.
We've had a collection of moveable caches for way too long, apologies to the cache owners, so have passed them on to another team to take with them on an expedition, happy travels
Some last minute finds in the summer game to give us the chance to hopefully grab some points. These caches arrived unexpectedly on the last day for the triple points, we'll move them on again asap. TFTC
Dropped off close to another caching team
Relogged as moved and ready to be found again.
A big thank you to the GCA volunteers for giving up there time to fix a one in a million failure and getting us all caching again.
Thanks

Journey or Destination
Game Period: 01-Dec-2018 00:00:00 to 31-Jan-2019 23:59:59 AEST
It is sometimes said [citation needed] that the game of geocaching is not about the destination it is about the journey. This game is about the choices you make in the experience of the journey or the destination.
On your entry to the game you will be asked to create a playing field with a number of ground tiles. Your playing field is a grid 20 x 20 ground tiles making a total number of 400 possible steps you can take on your journey or destination. You choose whether you want to find and follow the path or whether you wanted to meander around. A playing field is unique to each player so there is no benefit in teaming up to beat the system through brute force.
For each qualifying geocache that you hide or find during the game period you will be offered the opportunity to click on a ground tile and reveal what lies beneath. There are a number of different ground tiles that will be revealed when you click on your playing field. It should be noted that there are no punishments for clicking a tile but there will not always be the reward you were hoping for as you reveal each tile.
Dirt. The ground beneath the ground tile is just plain old brown dirt.
Dirt with some points. The ground beneath the tile is brown dirt but it has some points associated with it.
Concrete. The ground beneath is part of the pathway that will lead you on your way to your destination but has no point value.
Start. A concrete ground tile that has a blue map marker.
Destination. A ground tile that has a green map marker.
Meandering around and avoiding the path will accumulate points that will be used to place on you the ladder of wanderers. The more you stay off the path the higher the number of points you will accumulate and it will be your journey that will be the determining factor in whether you place into a prize winning position. You are free to select any ground tile to click on; they do not need to be next to each other.
Trying to find the path may mean you strike out on the dirt until you eventually come across the path and as a geocacher who can't say that this isn't a tried and true method. Once you find the path however will you try and follow the path as it changes direction around your playing field? Do you go North, South, East or West to try and find the next concrete tile along the path? If you head one way are you heading towards the start or towards the destination? When you do happen upon the destination tile then you will automatically be in a winning position.
At any point you are free to change from the journey to the destination and vice versa but you won't be able to regenerate your playing field. You are also free to keep playing as long as you have qualifying geocaches, accumulating more and more dirt tile points and placing you higher and higher on the ladder.
Qualifying geocaches fall into two categories. Finds and Hides.
A qualifying find is a geocache that meets the following criteria:
The geocache is listed at Geocaching Australia
The geocache has a hidden date prior to the game commencing
The geocache was logged by you on the Geocaching Australia website during the game period
The geocache was physically found by you during the game period
The geocache is not owned by you unless it is a moveable geocache
The geocache has not previously been found by you during the game period
The geocache is one of the following types:
Burke and Wills
Moveable (you will qualify only once for a find on a moveable geocache)
Traditional
TrigPoint
Augmented Reality
Beacon
Gadget
Multi-cache
Night Cache
Podcache
Reverse
Unknown or Mystery
A qualifying hide is a geocache that meets the following criteria:
The geocache is listed at Geocaching Australia
The geocache has a hidden date after the game has commenced
The geocache was published on the Geocaching Australia website during the game period
The geocache has a container size of regular or larger (Note: A regular geocache has a volume of 1 litre or more)
The geocache is one of the following types:
Moveable
Traditional
Augmented Reality
Beacon
Gadget
Multi-cache
Night Cache
Podcache
Reverse
Unknown or Mystery
The game tracking mechanism relies upon your honesty when logging geocaches as found or hidden.
The games administrators will undertake verification of a statistically significant number of logs.
Players who continually log inaccurate information will be disqualified from the game. The game administrators decision is final.
The game administrators will subtract qualifying hide or find geocaches from your tally if they are found to be not genuine.
The game administrators reserve the right to provide clarifications to the rules at any point during the game.
Don't forget to claim your limited time game trophies, if your qualify, while the game is in progress. Once the game completes the ability to claim your trophies is lost for ever.

This dinosaur is back out and ready to be found.
This dino was resting in some long grass with some mates after racing around for all of September as part of the most recent moveable challenge. The GeoGSP and I dropped by after our late afternoon walk and decided he had had enough rest and it was now time for him to move on - but at a less frenetic pace! Took just this guy, leaving a couple of other moveables behind. Will move on soon. TFTM.
