The ABC: 107.9 ABC Ballarat

107.9FM ABC Ballarat began broadcasting on June 30, 2003. It is the largest ABC regional station in Victoria and is home to a team of broadcasters, journalists, program-makers and online producers, providing news, programs and online content primarily about Ballarat, Ararat, Daylesford and Colac as well as the greater South West Victoria region including Hamilton, Portland, Port Fairy and Warrnambool.

Since its founding, ABC Ballarat's commitment to being part of the fabric of the community while also leading the way forward amongst existing media outlets has never faltered. Since launch, we've marked the 150th Anniversary of the Eureka Stockade uprising and the opening of the Ex Prisoner of War Memorial in Ballarat as well as numerous emergency broadcasts when our communities face crises like bushfires or floods.
