Description
This BOX OF DINASAURS is a racer in the Spring Caching Carnival of 2018.
Look for the log book marked with 'Box of Dinosaurs' among the other dinosaurs to claim this cache
This cache containter holds a herd/pack/flock of dinosaurs - it would be good if they could be kept together.
The Spring Caching Carnival is a game where geocaching Dinosaur Racers will race around the world accumulating finds, moves and distance in order for their owner to be crowned King or Queen of the Spring Caching Carnival.
The game requires you to hide a moving geocache on Geocaching Australia on the 1st of September 2018 and then you can sit back and watch as your Dinosaur Racer travels Australia and the world. You can also help other Dinosaur Racers by finding and moving them along at Geocaching Australia.
The game software will keep an automatic track of the Dinosaur Racers and will automatically calculate distances and stops as the Dinosaur Racer moves around the country. Check out the links on Geocaching Australia to see where the Dinosaurs are, how far they have travelled and even get a map of Dinosaur locations.
Moveable caches are caches that are moved by geocachers. When the cache is found, the finder takes the complete cache to a new location, hides it and updates the coordinates on the website. With a moveable cache, follow these steps to log your find and move.
First Step: Log your find with a 'Found' log (this will give you your smiley!) Do this asap so other cachers know the cache has been picked up.
Second Step: When you have moved the cache to its new location, log a NEW 'Moved' log, adding the new co-ordinates and even a hint in the hint box if you wish. The hints box will update the main hint for the cache so that it will update in GSAK and the like.
Note that you can also effectively move a cache with a found log. Log your find with a 'Found' log to give you your smiley and add the new co-ordinates and a hint to the applicable entry boxes. This will update the cache location and the hint and will also give you your smiley for finding the cache.

We were 57m from the hide when we came to parks tape alerting walkers to the burn off and closure of the road. The tape did not cover the track lower down and as the fire was well away we decided that we were safe to make a quick dash to GZ. Fortunately the hide, hint and coordinates took us straight to the dinosaur enclosure. We were able to quickly load up these prehistoric animals and head back to the parking area. We gathered a few others nearby as we went.
On arriving back at the parking area we spotted a familiar face in a nearby vehicle. Out popped Alby Dangles who was about to head off on his own rescue mission. Alby was introduced to this cache and its contents. We enjoyed a nice caching chat before we headed off to the next spot.
No dinosaurs were incinerated today. Good to catch up with Alby. The dinosaurs will be released on the north west coast soon.
A nice idea for a cache Kittykatch.
A quick find whilst on the move

My trip to the Mega was great, found lab caches which while like gadgets are new icons to me. Found some great caches and brought back some neat ideas for new caches in Tasmania.

Tried for this little box dinosaurs when they were published, however was beaten to the punch by Black Bunny. Then saw them dropped off and not too far from home, so first thing this morning (first thing for me anyway at 9.30am) headed out and soon had the gang safely in hand.
Thanks KK, a neat little group of racers. Recommended for the fun.
Thanks for the cache kittykatch
Joint *FTF* with Black Bunny. Thanks, Kittykatch!
