Description

Baby Dinosaur on the run

This dinosaur baby is part of the moveable cache race from Sept 1st until Sept 30th 2018.

Please move it as far and as often as possible as quickly as possible during the game period.

After the 1st of October 2018 it will become a normal moveable cache.  Enjoy!

Goal: Travel far and often

So what do you do?

Find the Dino and make sure you make a FOUND LOG so people know it’s no longer there.

Move him somewhere else.

It could be a little bit or a long way, just make sure you include a MOVED  LOG and a good hint so people will know where to look.

Please don’t hold onto it for more than 48 hours if possible... unless you are taking it interstate :D

The Dino hide is very bright in colour and so would appreciate a cover of naturally occurring camo when you re-hide it.

Etiquette:

Avoid re-hiding a Dinosaur Racer far from active Geocachers’ territory as it basically exits the dinosaur from the race

When re-hiding a Dinosaur Racer get good co-ordinates. Seriously. Don't dump and run. Get accurate co-ords as you would a permanent geocache

When making your log against a Dinosaur Racer include a good hint so the finder can identify whether it's been moved, muggled or just a bad GPS day

This is a challenge of moving Dinosaur Racer along, not trying to make them impossible to find, so help you fellow players out by making the game enjoyable

Please avoid hiding moveable caches near existing Groundspeak or Geocaching Australia geocaches. At Groundspeak geocaches they go missing as rubbish or taken as trades. At Geocaching Australia geocaches the other geocache ends up travelling as well, which it's not supposed to. So please find a location away from any existing geocaches (except of course other moveable geocaches) to keep the Dinosaur Racer in play for as long as possible.

Reading previous logs, this moveable may still be in location OR may have been found, removed and not relocated yet. We know moveables can sometimes be forgotten / missed / left in the bottom of a caching bag, so a check has been undertaken on this one.

An update will be posted within 28 days….

Picked up and no longer at the posted coords. I will place this back out soon......

Picked up today while out on a late run in the Journey/Destination game. Total haul for the day - 4 GCA caches and half a GC multi.

A quick find in the usual drop off point around here. Thanks to the previous hider for placing this so close to me! The cache is in great condition.

Thanks for the cache MattyCat
GCA Find #195

Hoping this find will move me one step closer to the destination tile!
“It is sometimes said [citation needed] that the game of geocaching is not about the destination it is about the journey. This game is about the choices you make in the experience of the journey or the destination.“

Spotted at the moveables event at Ebenezer. At the end of the event found hitching a lift in companionship with a number of other moveables, offered to take them some where along the way so they hopped on board the dirty black juke. Thanks for sharing the moveables

The latest Geocaching Australia game runs from 01-Dec-2018 00:00:00 to 31-Jan-2019 23:59:59 AEST

For each qualifying geocache that you hide or find during the game period you will be offered the opportunity to click on a ground tile and reveal what lies beneath.

A moving cache, by nature, may have been moved since you last determined its location. It may have been picked up but not yet rehidden so it's considered 'in-transit'. There is no foolproof method of determining where a cache is simply by the log types that have been placed against the cache.

Found this one at the Meet the Moveables (NSW Edition) event. Thanks for sharing.

What a great way to start the new year with a meet the movables event that saw 75 moveable caches and 10 geocacher caches in attendance. All was laid out so one could walk around the tables to sign each and every log before a swap occured to send them away again in a new direction.

After a failed mission to join the crew doing the ‘BLACK OPs - Carpe Noctem’ (GC32WN6) cache this weekend due to being unable to get time off work (on Friday and Saturday) and other commitments arising, Sad I did however sweet talk my way into having Sunday off. Smile This then lead me to take a look around and see what was available within my free day to make it a day out. After taking a look around the GC and GCA caches, I found 2 events on the same day close to each other and I decided on attending them both. Smile After this I took a look at what caches I could find along the way and made my trail to make it an enjoyable day out. Something I didn’t expect was, a FTF which was on cache GA13305. Big Grin This added to the fun. I would like to thank all the CO’s of the caches I found and for the fun and enjoyment I had while finding them. Big Grin
Today’s Totals: 44 Finds

9 GC (GroundSpeak)
33 GCA

This was one of the 29 moveable caches I found and signed today. TFTC

I spent the morning in the company of some incedible cachers from Canberra and Temora at an Event organised by Sol de Lune to enlighten us on the new GCA Game. I for one understand the game better now so thanks to SDL and Black Bunny for enlightening us. The weather was hot and sunny so at times chairs were moved around to stay in the shade. Masses of Movables appeared and were eagerly found but not moved by all present. Very Happy

01-Dec-18
Headed down to Melbourne for the Meet the Moveables event at Brimbank Park, where this moveable, along with about 120 other were found. A good turn out at the event and everyone seem to have a lot fun talking about all things caching while finding the moveables and getting a start on the Journey or Destination summer game. A good couple of hours were spent in the area before witching hour rolled around and it was time to head back up the highway towards home. T'was an uneventful trip and with the number of moveable on offer, was certainly worth the drive.

Thanks for the moveable.....

A quick pickup of moveables today for a secret meeting to take place in just a little while. Your geocache would ike to join the secret activities so it may not move for a little while but it will be safe and sound and will be moved along (and hopefully logged quite a bit) in the not too distance future.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for this geocache here today.

A blue egg this time!

A bird must have eggs nearby as it wasn't very happy to see us, and squawked at us furiously until we left.

We'll take this cache back to J & J HQ to put some k's on it and re-release tomorrow hopefully.

Thanks Mattycat.
