Description
Spring Carnival of Dinosaurs Moveable Race
Aussiesauras is a yellow and green Brontosaurus and he was taking part in the Spring Caching Carnival of 2018. The Spring Caching Carnival is a game where geocaching Dinosaurs will race around accumulating finds, moves and distance in order for their owner to be crowned King or Queen of the Spring Caching Carnival. Racing commenced 01-Sep-2018 00:00:00 and finished on 30-Sep-2018 23:59:59 AEST. The game is over but this little fellow still wants to travel around the countryside and maybe meet up with his brothers Septosauras and Willifindyousauras.
- Please avoid hiding movable caches near existing Groundspeak or Geocaching Australia geocaches. At Groundspeak geocaches they go missing as rubbish or taken as trades. At Geocaching Australia geocaches the other geocache ends up travelling as well which it's not supposed to. So please find a location away from any existing geocaches (except of course other movable geocaches) to keep the Dinosaur Racer in play for as long as possible. Please move me around quickly as I get antsy if in the same place for too long.
Logs
Today we searched for Aussiesauras, but we are sorry to report we could not locate him/her
Incorrectly logged by last hider. Possible correct coords and hint:
S28° 49.490' E153° 19.729'
SPOR underneath large grouping of green rocks and concrete block

I thought I'd found this today, but just realised it was not the same dinosaur as in the images. Maybe the wrong one was logged as placed here. Therefore, I'm not sure where Aussie is.
The dinosaur I found here was GA12829

Aussiesauras is delighted to move to a new location. He is now in a tranquil arboretum with lots of greenery. His new home is quite unusual. It looks like the tentacles of a squid or octopus. He is happy to stay here a while but looks forward to meeting new friends and continuing his travels. Thanks for the company.
I visited Schusters Park on the Gold Coast to find some dinosaur movables. I had found Dino #6 a couple of days prior but did not realise that Aussiesauras was sharing the same tree hollow. I have met Aussiesauras’ twin Racing with George the Dino. They look so much alike it’s hard to tell them apart. Thanks for the cache ChrisWhite62.
Oh dear... Aussiesauras is not missing. He's been chilling at our house with the rest of my Krew. I almost forgot about him, so quiet he is that it wasn't until I went to rehide a batch of moveables from Rathdowney, that a small voice from the Krew seat reminded me that he thought it was time to get back on the road. He wasn't objecting to my hospitality, in fact this is what kept him here for such a long time but with so many caches in Samboo (err Schuster's) park he through it might have been an opportune time to continue his travels.
Good luck Aussiesauras. This moveable is now travelling with GA12626 Dino #6

It seems this cache is still in the safe hands of Petan. Hopefully it will be placed back into play soon.
and this is why I love moveables....
ParisLaura visited our fair city and left a bit of a trail of moveables along Moondarewa pathway, at The Spit Main Beach. We walked along the 100 or so metres collecting as we go. Most were on the Bums Bay side, completely away from Muggles, but not this one - this was on the Broadwater side and within about 15 - 20mins away from a group of people enjoying the day. If this was a permanent cache, the proximity issue would say "not today" but with ParisLaura leaving a great hint, it was possible to see where Aussisauras should be facilitating literally a swoop and grab before anyone realised what was happening. If anyone came to look where we were, all they would see is the hollow under the rock.
Aussisauras is now safely with me while we decide on his next move - to the Gnome Tree in 'Samboo Park' or perhaps hang around for a bit longer and meet the rest of the Northern Rivers geocaching community at the November event. Decisions, decisions.
Thanks for the cache.

Found this one on the table at the event for Australia Day for the moveables. Thanks for the moveable which was one of 101 that made their way to Ebenezer. Good luck on any further moves
The latest Geocaching Australia game runs from 01-Dec-2018 00:00:00 to 31-Jan-2019 23:59:59 AEST
For each qualifying geocache that you hide or find during the game period you will be offered the opportunity to click on a ground tile and reveal what lies beneath.
A moving cache, by nature, may have been moved since you last determined its location. It may have been picked up but not yet rehidden so it's considered 'in-transit'. There is no foolproof method of determining where a cache is simply by the log types that have been placed against the cache.

Headed up to Ebenezer with LuckyL10n to attend the Aussie Day event. 45 degree day made for a bit of a fun trip, however it was pleasant in the winery building. A good few hardy souls were in attendance as well as over 100 moveables. Some good conversation with cachers not met before and a good couple of hours was had by all. The trip home was a little different to what was expected but turned out ok....
Thanks to all the CO's for the caches...

Called into Tizzana Winery to buy some wine and saw the moveables and the list. The family wanted to continue on so said "Hi" to a few we'd previously met then headed on with some wine. Diolch for the moveable. I didn't pick up any.

Attended the 'Australia Day Moveable Event 2018' and came face to face with other like minded cachers, one being another lucky (luckyl10n) and 101 moveables in the area. Many thanks to the CO's who have published them over time and others who bought them together for the event.

Found this one at the Australia Day Moveable Event 2018 event held at Tizzana Winery in Ebenezer. Another fantastic turnout at the event run for the current 2018/19 Journey or Destination game being run on Geocaching Australia which saw a total of 101 moveables come together. Thanks for sharing.

#GA3407 - 17:00; I didn't make it to the prisoner exchange today, but I did manage to get my name onto the log sheet as the posse headed through the northern suburbs on their way into the National Capital for a bit of touring and sightseeing. TFTC ChrisWhite62

Moved with three others to the Wingello State Forest.
This tiny dinosaur was a little nervous starting its trip around the big island by itself so has teamed up with an old had. Happy travels!
We were on our way to Kingston to a farewell for a group of Antarctic expeditioners leaving for Mawson via Davis on the Aurora Australis tomorrow and noticed some moveables beside the Southern Outlet. Had to detour along Proctors Road and collect a few. This was one of them.
Will move it along soon.

An early appointment in town led to a quick find of this dino. Out and racing again soon. TFTM

Aussie is back out and about with a mate, stalking around trevallyn and awaiting the next intrepid hunter.. thanks..!!
Out and about for the day and found myself strangely drawn to the Bass Highway in Tassie’s northern bits. With the nearby unfound moveable, simply couldn’t pass on by without picking up this big guy. We sat and had a chat and he’s indicated that he were keen to quickly move on with his heart set on relocating to the Trevallyn Reserve dino feeding ground.. thanks..!!

Left this little green and gold patriot tucked away listening to the frogs in the little creek below.
Sporting the Aussie green and gold this little Brontosaurus blends into most environments and it was the pink tag we spotted first. It joined the other little creatures in a pocket as we continued our morning dinosaur collecting walk.
Thanks ChrisWhite62 for another addition to the dinosaur racing team.

Brought some dinosaurs back from Launceston yesterday to continue their race along the north west coast, happy travels
Found on a dinosaur raid in the Launceston area, we brought more than we took so that should please the locals. Taking this one to the north west with us. TFTC
