Description
Have your photo taken by the sign at the front of the building
This building was originally a nursing home, Grutzner House, behind what is now the defunct Mooroopna Hospital.
It is divided into two sections, each comprising many rooms.
One half contains various displays of the history of the hospital, and the many doctors and nurses who trained and carried out their duties here. It contains a large amount of items which were salvaged from the hospital when it was decommissioned.
The other half depicts the history of Mooroopna and surrounding areas, and the memorabilia is very well displayed.
It is only open two days a week by very friendly volunteers who love sharing their local history.

A quick find here today and grabbed a snap for the gallery after stopping past.
It was a bit wet today, so we didn't hang around for long.
A nice way to get out and enjoy the history of the area today.

Having found this one's GC neighbour in town, I dropped by here for a nice quick find right on noon before making our way back to the Big Smoke. A visit inside wasn't even an option today as it was closed for the KB holiday. Oh well.
Thanks Cybergran V.

What a sad and dismal building that was. I worked with quite a few nurses who trained and were employed here, thankfully nursing homes are just that now, residents homes, and they are presented as such inside and out.
A quick find, lol,! on my way through town. TFTV Cybergran
Unfortunately it wasn't open.

On our way from Wangaratta to Echuca we stopped in the Shepparton area to grab a couple of GCA caches. This was one of them, the sign at the Mooroopna Museum. TFTC
A wonderful display from the Mooroopna Historical Society Inc.
I enjoyed my visit here today.
The volunteers who were present went to extra lengths to tell us so much about the various items and share their personal memories and local knowledge with us, making this static display come alive and adding greatly to our experience.
