We were passing through Armidale today on out way to Tamworth. With limited time we had to select one or 2 caches to look for. This was a difficult choice as there were many and its always hard to leave a GCA cache unfound. As we have always supported the ICEM cache series this one was the one. Initially we ended up in the wrong location however a quick coordinate check corrected that and we soon had the cache in hand and our name added to the log. Before replacing the container we checked out the pile of cocoons attached to the base. These had made extracting the container difficult. We were not sure what might be in them so we left them in tact when we replaced the container.

Thanks for this ICEM cache Geono. It is always pleasing to add another to our found list.

It’s a wet dreary day and we’ve paused in Armidale to explore the town. As we often do, we let caches lead us around to see the sights. And we ended up here - can’t pass by an ICEM cache. Very Happy
Log is all good and dry.

Thank you. Smile

You know, I was expecting 7am to be much cooler here this morning than it was. Obviously this was a sign of a hot day ahead so I was glad to get out early to find a few GCA caches before hitting the road South again. This was my first stop of the day. I was really tempted here to do that 'telephoto' style trig claim by getting all 4 test line pillars in the one shot, instead I just drove right up to them all except the one up top here.

Armidale really is a beautiful place once you actually stop and look at it. I've been through here many times, and stopped overnight once on my own when I was meant to be in Coffs at my son's engagement party. But that was an awful weekend that rendered me blind to any nice details. Driving away today I thought, I really should come back here and stop for longer and check out more of the place. Maybe I will.

Heading back into town after some GC caches.... Samuel found this while I was looking elsewhere, nice hide for the location I might add... Thanks very much.

Mr Shifter dropped Mrs Shifter at the nearby GC cache and she walked back to town collecting this cache and the trig testline along the way.
Mr Shifter stopped here to wat and watch but did not locate the cache before Mrs Shifter arrived and located the container very quickly.
Another in the ICEM series completed.
Thanks geono.

We are staying near Armidale for an Easter holiday camp and decided to pick ups some caches while visiting some friends.

We found this cache out in the open when we got to GZ. It left quite an indent in the ground so looks like it had been there for a while. After signing the log and making a some swaps we re-hid it in a possible hidey hole with a bit of camo. Pic sent to CO.

Good to find one of the rare ish GCA traditionals and another in the ICEM series.

Thanks for the cache

Into Armidale and headed out for LL to grab the test line of trigs and to also grab another ICEM. Took a minute to get it sorted, however all was good and we soon had our names in the log.

Thanks for another one geono....

Tamworth and Amrmidale Trip March 2020. Day 6. I headed north with Fitzy_1965 along the New England Highway towards Tamworth. This was our day to get the cache trails to the North and east of Armidale, it was a long day, but we still found a few GCAs along the way.

Thanks

On my return. After stopping at the trout hatchery, doing the tour, feeding the fish I purchased a fillet of wood smoked trout & had it for a late lunch. Delicious. Called in here & proceeded to look in the obvious place, nope. Skirted around & saw something which was familiar then made the find. Thanks.

Sorry whitewebbs and Tassie Trekkers, the cache was missing. We've replaced it in a different location with an updated hint. This may not be the permanent hide... it was too cold to spend much time looking today. Confused

Day 32 Mainland trip
On the way from Uralla to Tenterfield we stopped to find a few caches in Armidale and this was one. We spent about 30 minutes searching but we couldn't locate the cache. We found a couple of good hidey holes, a rock to stop a cache falling out and a soft roll of bark that may have been cammo. We fear it has gone. Onto the trigs, can't miss them.

In town to visit the cache owner today, and we see that this cache has yet to be claimed! So we made a slight detour to search for this one. It wasn't long after we got out of the car that we had this one in hand. Cant believe how warm Armidale is today! 34 degrees! I thought this was cold country. Not today! A nifty little hide, and I think this is my first ICEM find since the series has been around! Thanks Geono!
