Description

The Pass, Byron Bay

This is the best known beach in Byron, apparently it's a world class surf beach. It's a great beach for a casual swim, or to take the family on a day out too. There's a nice set of stairs that lead up to a platform that has some amazing views of the Byron coastline.

Like everything in Byron though, you'll have to pay for parking. Parking can be a struggle in summer.

The end game is a micro container, but it's hidden in something bigger that is part of the cache, and is in plain sight. The GPS will point you to the stairs that lead up to the viewing platform, but you don't need to climb the stairs, stay to the left and climb up the ledge. Hint will give you a pretty good idea on where the cache is.

No luck for us today despite a thorougher search. Not to worry. The area was beautiful. Maybe we will be back again one day!

nibletricecakes, k8tybee and I hunted for this one and scrambled under the structure looking for the hide. Too tricky for us today.

Mmmm! This one was a bit trickier than the others we have done in this beach series.
Again Mr Beetle waited with the van to avoid having to pay parking fees.
When I reached GZ there were some muggles admiring the view from the platform at GZ so I had to bide my time while I waited. Would have been alright if there had been some surfers to watch but they were AWOL today. Only a couple of old farts trying to stand up on non existent waves.
As I was in thongs I didn't want to take that last step up to GZ but with a bit of stretching managed to get the container.
Thanks.

Wayn0 and I were caching in the Byron Bay area today, and your caches were out target, GC and GCA. After failing to find parking just north of here, we came to find this cache and enjoy the view.

It was great to finally get to this area after being told about it by plenty of people.

Another clever hide. Thanks MattyRx.

Day 75 Mainland trip
Out and about caching around Byron Bay with Tassie Trekkers and this was one we found. This type of hide is just so good, it is in plain sight and secure and no one is none the wiser except the seeker. TFTC

Caching in the area with whitewebbs on a wet and cloudy day and this was one of the caches we found. Even though it was a wet day there were still plenty of muggles out and about enjoying this beautiful location.

Many thanks MattyRx for publishing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience.

Thanks for this cache MattyRx. It was a quick, easy find. While I was there signing the log, two of the biggest dolphin I have EVER seen dropped in on the surfers! After their initial shock and fin check, they happily shared the waves for about 10 minutes! It was such a memorable moment. Thank you for placing this cache where you did. Even on a busy Saturday morning no one will see you in plain sight. All eyes are on the waves Smile

We walked from Clarkies along the beach. It's not hard to see why Byron Bay is so popular. We hadn't been to The Pass before and maybe neither had all those other coconut smelling people who were heading on up with their selfie sticks. We sat around looking at the beautiful clean water, taking photos and waiting for a chance to grab the cache. It's amazing that a cache could still be unfound with so many people about but, woohoo for us, {FTF} at 2.38pm. Those coconut smelling people were right, this is a great spot to visit to see the views. TFTC MattyRx.

I think a lot of the conflict that happened in the Wild West could’ve been avoided had architects in those days just made their towns big enough for everyone.
