Description

ICEM - Adelong.

This cache is part of the I've Cached Everywhere, Man (ICEM) project, a series of Geocaching Australia caches in Australia. The series had it's first airing in 2011 and now in 2018 Geocching Australia is promoting the series again in the hope the number of caches in the series can be increased.

The series is made up of the locations made famous by Lucky Star in the song "I've been everywhere" in 1962, lyrics by Geoff Mack.

Adelong is located south of Tumut in the Snowy Mountains area of NSW, with the cache located at the Adelong Falls Gold Mill Ruins Resevre, so if you're in the area, stop by to check out the reserve...the area is a great to explore.....and maybe add another ICEM to your list of finds

Passing through I decided to stop and check out the falls and ruins here. Very cool! Not the weather though. Not sure if it was my last 2 weeks in the mountains or the lunch I ate, but I wasn't coping with the heat. So when I found the cache had no writing implement in it I wasn't going back to the car. I scratched my NT and the date in the log book though. After this I headed on down to the falls and dipped my head in the water to cool down before having to slowly make my way back up with my sore leg. Why do I do these things to myself? Haha.

I have visited this area several times, but this was minniek's first time, so she/we grabbed all the local caches, including this ICEM. Found a brand new cache in place which we thankfully signed.

Travelling round this area on the way to Canberra's Invasion of Tumut over the coming weekend. Unfortunately this one was missing but I have replaced it with the CO's permission . Thanks for placing this cache for us to find in such an incredible area. Love the history and scenery here.
