Description

Mount Painter offers a fantastic view of the Canberra Region

Take a walk to grab this cache and then continue on to the top to check out the 360 degree views over Canberra.

Lots of other cool caches to grab here too.

Thanks to Sol de lune for providing the cache containers at the Secret Santa event.

Please make sure you cover the cache back up carefully to avoid it being muggled.

This took a while to spot on the way up during today's tour. I finally found it 11m from the posted coords so not sure if it's been moved.
Nice big cache.
Thanks for adding to the GCA caching community.

Found whilst out and about on Mt Painter. I spotted something which looked like the cache upon arriving but I dismissed it for a few minutes; trusting my instincts would've saved a lot of dirty knees! A few muggles have found this as is apparent by the logbook but I am the first real cacher to find this in years, it seems quite unloved at the moment! TNLNSL. TFTC KK! Clan Cerberus

The place was crawling with muggles from all directions, so I had a few cursory looks and pokes and then abandoned this place.
Will have to come back another day.

I don't recommend doing this on a pandemic weekend.

I was in the area with Nibletricecakes doing our daily #gc4exercise and found this gca. A stunning view. TFTC Kittykatch. Laughing

Out for a walk with GLISS! in the nice fresh autumn air. Picked up a GC daily nearby and got sprung by some young keen fellow cachers. Excited to see this GCA just nearby, so popped over for a hunt. Some hints from previous finders helping to broaden out our search. Cache in great condition! TFTC

After the nearby FTF I was so close and went straight for this one (forgetting about another FTF being still unfound). I remembered this cache as I wanted to visit in February already but then fell short to do so. A nice big container a few meters from where my coordinates pointed but with the size it was not hard to look around till I spotted it.

On my last day at home before I head off on a dive trip, I decided to go for a walk on mount painter and The Pinnacle. This was first, and while a good 10m from my GZ, I managed to find it, partly due to its size.

Thanks

Decided it was time to collect all the caches on Mt Painter today, collecting both GC & GCA's along the way.

Having just climbed up Mt Painter from the south side, heading up to this one from the road was a bit of a stuggle even though it was only 100m.

Took us a bit to find (my GPS said about 9m out) but find we did.

GCA 2,629. Walking around Mount Painter with minniek and stopped to pick this one up.

A warm winters day out caching and this was one of our many prizes for the day.

Spent far too long looking for what turned out to be a very easy large cache... Lots of possible hiding spots. Enjoy walking up here, good views.

A early start to work means a mid-arvo departure from the office.. so down to clear out Mt Painter.

This one took a few minutes, but I saw a previous log, so I spread my search out a bit. Oh.. right there... wasn't far at all!

Signed, hidden and back on my way again

Parked at a familiar spot and made the short walk up to the rocks. Spent far too long here looking in various cracks. Not good when you can't find a large Embarassed

After a while, I widened the search and spotted the container. About 12m out for me.

Nice spot and not too hot with a few shady trees around.

Thanks,

I ventured out earlier than the last couple of days but it was still awesomely hot this morning. This was my first find today and my name is now added to the eell hidden cache. TFTC Kittykatch SL

#GA3358 - 13:35; It's been a big week of GCA caching and after dropping the geohoney in the city for some retail therapy, I headed out again. I had collected a couple of GC caches along the way and another in the ICEM series, grabbed a coffee and still had some time before our agreed meeting time, so I headed off in pursuit of this cache. Parked at the closest entry point to the reserve and then headed up the hill to GZ. Started the hunt, but needed the particularly precise hint before I homed in on GZ for the find. Added my name in second place on the log and was on my way again. TFTC Kittykatch Very Happy

Didn't think I'd see this container/s again so soon. Been busy with the last week of work and today was the only day I could get out here. Parked in a familiar spot and took the short walk up to GZ. Took a minute or two to make the find, but all was good and the cache was soon in hand. Signed the log in an area I never thought I would in one of these, but there ya go....strange things do happen.

Thanks KK....a good location to hide a cache of this side.
