Description

Our Family loves beaches, if we had to choose between caching and going to the beach then the beach would come first.

Nelson Bay and the surrounding area has quite a few beaches so I thought I would introduce all the geocachers to them.

I have already placed quite a few GC caches in the area so I thought I would add a few virtual GCA caches. But I thought I would make them beaches, this way you can go caching in the morning and them take the family to the beach in the afternoon.

If I do all the beaches in the area you can then experience them all and find your families favourite. We have been here a year now and have found some great sneaky beaches only the locals know about. I hope you enjoy exploring them all.

Enjoy my two favourite past times combined into one.

Halifax Park Beach is a little hidden place used by the locals and the caravan park patrons. The water is deep and the wind is blocked by the hill. It is Perfect for a beautiful beach day.

To log this find just take a beautiful photo of the beach in question. No need to get a sign or distinguishing mark, I know them all. Just try and be creative with your shot. Mix it up, Sunset, Sunrise, Low tide, High Tide, Sand shot, Sky shot, Under water, high shot, low shot, etc etc etc

Happy Caching and photographing.

Beautiful looking beach but a. It rough today

We are spending a lovely Autumns day in Nelson Bay for Mothers Day.

After having a swim we decided to warm up by walking along the beach towards the lighthouse before heading behind the rocks.
This is a nice little sheltered part of the beach, which was popular with the fishers today.

Dad made the mistake of walking too far around the point and got hit with the full force of the wind again.

18-Jul-21
spending a day at the bay, finding trigs and caching

14-Oct-20
Nice walk along the foreshore enjoying the scenery and picking up a few caches along the way. Great views, photo is the best I could manage in the time allowed

08-Sep-19
This was our second favourite of the beaches visited today. It was the longest walk to get to it though so my photo shows Mr Beetle resting on the post to recover!!!!
There were great views of the islands from here and no wind later in the day either which is always a bonus!!!
Our GPS did have a hissy fit getting to this one though and it was determined that we could drive through the caravan park to get to it!!!
Noticed a van driving around the area here lifting up people's recycling bin lids. He was doing it out of the window of his van!!! Wonder what that was all about???
Thanks.

Stunning views from all these beaches. TFTC

Found on our trip to Port Stephens. After a DNF on the nearby cache, we took a photo from the lighthouse of the area - just through the trees, you can see the beach. The most fantastic views from up here. TFTC MADSTARS! Clan Cerberus

Wandered over to Halifax Park Beach after sunset but there was just enough light to get this image. It was so nice to be at this wonderful place, my favourite on the NSW coast.
Then I continued on under threatening skies to the west!

Today we used MadStars' virtual caches as an itinerary to visit many wonderful places and objects in the Nelson Bay, Shoal Bay and Port Stephens areas. It was starting to rain quite heavily as we arrived at Halifax Park Beach. It was not surprising, therefore, that the beach was deserted when we were there. Three photos have been added to the Gallery - a view in each direction along the beach, and aview across the bay. Thanks MadStars for taking us to many great places in the area.

TFTC and the spinner.

Continuing with my theme of appallingly drawn sand art, I present to you my Halifax. Thanks MADSTARS.

Went for a stroll around the back of the caravan park to finish off the day's caching. Nice extension to the beach I started the day's caching with!

Found this cache today while out with Mini Cash Man.

Now that I am out of GC caches in the Bay area it is time to clean up all the GCA Caches.

SO this is how you are supposed to get to Shipwrecked! I always seem to do things the hard way.

Great spot MADSTARS

25-Sep-09
A lovely little beach with some hidden traps - I watched as some distraught boaters tried to rescue their swamped and capsized boat as it rolled in the small surf here at the beach.
