Description

Clarkes Beach

With gentle waves breaking close to shore, thanks to its long sandbank, Clarkes Beach is popular with swimmers, snorkelers and young families. It regularly forms shallow tidal pools too, which are perfect for the very youngest of beachgoers. Clarkes Beach is also a great place for older kids and grown-ups to perfect their body surfing skills. Access Clarkes Beach via the stairs from the beachfront car park. There you’ll also find Byron’s only beachfront café and restaurant.

The cache is located on a pathway down to the beach. Accessible any weather, any time - day or night. Just try to be stealthy when retreiving it.

We're staying in Byron for the week (if the state stays open!), and had just finished unpacking - lets go for a walk - and wouldn't you know it, a cache 700m away, and a MattyRx beach cache. Spotted easily, cache inners in pristine condition, a surprise with all the visits lately! Smile TFTC Matty!

It's nice to pick up a bit of unlove but it's not unusual for GCA unfortunately. We struggled with the cap for a while but suddenly Miss J had it open! I love a bold hide and we found a couple of yours today.
After logging our find we walked along the beach past the dune works and up via the caravan park to find a coffee.
Thanks MattyRX

Wow!!! They hit you a bit with the parking fees here so Mr Beetle waited in the van while I walked to this one.
Passed a large group of muggles at the kayak van but luckily they had just finished and not about to start as I first suspected.
Another excellent hide in this series and another awesome beach.
Thanks.

Day 75 Mainland trip
Out and about caching around Byron Bay with Tassie Trekkers and this was one we found. This type of hide is just so good, it is in plain sight and secure and no one is none the wiser except the seeker. A bit windy and wet today but still plenty of muggles around. TFTC

Found this clever cache whilst waiting for a gig to start at the Northern. Had a lovely wander down the beach in the dark and then snuck up to the cache.

Ah, my old stomping grounds. I use to walk this beach EVERY morning to do the swim from The Pass to the surf club. So many great memories! If you ever get the chance to join in on this morning ritual, I highly recommend it...safety in numbers, plus there is a strong sweep that pulls you along Wink. Thanks for the cache! log signed.

Found on our way home bit of a detour to find some one has signed but not logged this cache

We were pretty excited when we found a park... it wasn't anywhere near the cache but getting a park in Byron Bay in Christmas holidays is like winning the jackpot. Wink Then with the throng of tourists we walked along the path to Clarkies wondering how the heck we were going to be able to find a cache with these hordes. And that's when we got another surprise, there was no one to be seen from GZ. Shocked What a great little made-to-measure spot this is for a cache. {FTF} at 2.07pm. TFTC MattyRx (sorry for the late log Gullivers Embarassed )

What did one ocean say to the other ocean? Nothing, they just waved.
