Description

Visit the Draught horse statue at Nhill

The Draught Horse statue was created by Sculptor Stanley Hammond in recognition of the valuable contribution these animals made to farming and business in this region.

This statue has a wonderful audio recording which gives an interesting insight into how these incredible work horses shaped the history of agricultural production and exploration of this country.

Look at the information on the plaque and nearby to ascertain the answers to the questions.

Heading to Little Desert we stopped and gathered the required info to log this virtual.

Stopped for tea at the newly opened Thai restaurant in Nhill and remembered this cache as we were leaving. A quick detour and we had the information we needed. We only realised today when checking our caching records for July that we had not logged this one.

Thanks for this interesting history cache Cybergran V. We had a little trouble with question 2 but that could have been to the fading light and our tiredness.

Walked around the town and listened to the talk about the draught horses. Went over the road to the pub for dinner and then realised that the draughthorses were a GA cache. Luckily I had taken a picture of the plaque. TFTC

We stopped at Nhill for a picnic lunch nearby and this statue caught my eye
Then I discovered the audio button and was so impressed with the recording that I decided others should be made aware of it.
Realising travellers might just drive straight through here without stopping, the decision was made to create this history cache.
Enjoy your break while you research some simple answers.
