Whian Whian Falls is great for swimming (slightly chilly, but refreshing) and relaxing. Cool off, laze in the sun, dry out, smell the forest, bring a good book and/or quieten your mind.
As Whian Whian Falls is set in a fairly expansive area, explore a few hundred metres below the falls, where there are small cascades and pools that peter out into the forest. Here you’ll find more private waterholes if the falls get too crowded.
People have been badly injured from jumping at the falls. Do so at your own risk.
The cache is up the top of the falls, on the short track in from the road.
This cache is part of the Waterfalls of the Northern Rivers Geotour - a series of 10 caches highlighting the best waterfalls that the NSW Northern Rivers has to offer. Each cache has a clue which will help you compile the coordinates of a bonus cache.

Cache checked today - all is well. Place was nice and quiet this morning, but I think I beat the crowds.
It was the holiday season and a humid day perfect for going swimming at the local water hole. There were cars everywhere when we arrived. We walked down to look at the swimming areas and take a photo of the falls. Later we realised that there was another track to the waterfall along the fence beside Rocky Creek.
The cache was hiding in plain sight on the fence above the falls. We had to wait until there was a break in the pedestrian traffic going to and from the falls to examine the cache. In our haste we forgot to check for the clue for a bonus cache.
We returned to the falls after finding another cache. An intense summer storm had cleared all visitors to the falls and so began the process of searching in vain for the clue whilst getting soaked amidst thunder and lightning. We lamented our efforts by having a cup of tea in the car to warm up.

I had planned to do the GC cache here but didn't realise it was archived.. not to worry, it appears there's still one here to find regardless. so I switched apps and headed off towards ground zero.
unlike my last few visits here I had the spot all to myself, which was great as I could take my time enjoying the falls. not too much water cascading this time round though.
cache spotted easily before I arrived at the gz. wicked. thanks for the cache here MattyRx, a popular spot but still a good one.

4 weeks ago today I had a boo boo stopping me from getting to these geocaches. Today, as any other geocaching day in the last month, Seemyshell drive me around geocaching. We were looking for a decent waterfall to swim at so we came here. I knew there was a possible FTF here also.
However, my phone ran out of battery shortly after arriving at the falls so I had to work off my memory...from looking at it nearly 2 hours before, because I decided to swim first, then cache.
I recalled the general area it was in and one word in the hint. I eventually found a feature that matched the word I remembered, followed it for a bit. I had just announced that I give up (we had an event to get to on time) when I spotted another similar feature and recalled a second word from the hint. Boom! There it was!
Thanks again for another cache and FTF

I was invited to join my country's trampolining team for the 2020 Olympics. I jumped at the opportunity.
