Dalwood Falls is another water hole that used to be very quiet with just a few locals using it, but as the word about these pretty places spreads the falls are receiving more and more visitors. Start by parking you car at the coordinates above.  You'll be a bit put off with all the 'No Entry' signs. After a fatal accident a few years back, the coroner advised that these signs be placed to avoid anyone being prosecuted for other people's mishaps at the falls. Follow the well worn track, keeping to the right where the track forks. You'll soon be at the rocky ledge above the waterfall. A perfect spot for a photo.

Keep following the track, and you'll work your way down to the waterhole, where you can enter the pool gracefully rather than jumping off the cliff. Take your time as the rocks can be slippery.

The cache is hidden above the falls in a safe searching location. There's a lot of tree coverage overhead, so GPS can be jumpy. See spoiler pic in gallery if you want to lower the dificulty rating!

This cache is part of the Waterfalls of the Northern Rivers Geotour - a series of 10 caches highlighting the best waterfalls that the NSW Northern Rivers has to offer. Each cache has a clue which will help you compile the coordinates of a bonus cache.

Exploring the area in search of GCA caches and trigs today. Your cache was in our target area and one we found along the way.

Nice safe hide, cache and contents were in excellent condition.

Many thanks MattyRx for placing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience today.

We went for a relaxing drive this morning, chasing a few trigs and a couple of GA trads as we went.
Another MattyRx falls cache.- for sure! We wondered what lethal hazards awaited as we jumped the barriers and perused the sign exclaming the lethality of this site. It was pretty slippery, but we didn't go too close to the edge, nor should anyone with a respect for life (theirs!). Imagine how many concrete blocks you'd need in the Blue Mountains to protect people from dangerous drops?
The cache was a bit of a struggle, we eventually found the spoiler on the site with the phone, and then found it quickly, coords for us were S422 E790, about 12m south of published. The cache was in great condition, all dry.... Thanks!

This was my first visit to the falls although passing the location many times before. The 'No Entry' concrete barricades would deter most from entering however there were a few cars parked with people going for an afternoon swim. The well-travelled path leads to the ledge above the swimming hole which looks cool and inviting. Although coming prepared, I decide not to swim as the track down is steep and looks slippery.

I followed my compass which proved accurate for locating the GZ. Having looked at the photo of the hiding place there was no trouble finding the cache. Now I have one part of the clue to finding the bonus cache. Looking forward to visiting more waterfalls on the tour. TFTC MattyRx.

Back from a trip down south to see my girls, I had to stop very nearby to pick up my geocaching adventures partner, Boots. Seeing as we were only what seemed like meters away and the rain had stopped (I know right - rain - I was starting to wonder if it still existed), Boots and I decided we'd go take a look.

I was really put off by the signs. First the barriers, then the obvious one on the path. I wondered what on earth I was doing, but geocaching and a possible {FTF} got the better of me so on at went.

It looked so inviting! But I was playing it safe today. Here to quickly check out the falls and then find 2 geocaches. Sadly I only managed to find this one. My phone GPS want playing nice under the tree cover.

Thanks for the cache and tour. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Smile
