This is the Northern Rivers big one. The longest drop of any of the local falls - the water falls 100 meters over the huge rhyolite cliffs into a pool below. On a very clear day you'll see out to the ocean from the viewing platform. The trek to the bottom of the falls is well worth the walk, and a swim in the plunge pool at the bottom is an amazing reward for anyone making the effort to get there. Allow 4 hours return, but this hike is not nessessery to gain a smiley on this cache. The cache is located near the lookout at the top of the falls.
Minyon Falls is far more spectacluar after rainfall. In dryer times the waterfall can stop flowing altogether and while the view of the cliffs are interesting - it's nicer to see the water tumbling all the way to the bottom.
There are plenty of shady places for a picnic with tables and BBQs on site, camping facilities are at nearby Rummary Park.
