Description
A Postcard From..... Uralla! aka. Where's Thundy? This cache is not at the listed co-ordinates. Read on to find out more..... Frederick Wordsworth Ward (or Captain Thunderbolt as his friends like to call him) was the gentleman bushranger that escaped Cockatoo Island and was the longest roaming bushranger in Australian History. He roamed the countryside but towards the end there he spent a lot of time around Uralla. He like to hang out at the big rock (now known as Thunderbolt's Rock), and eventually he was killed at Kentucky Creek by a Constable Walker. He's Uralla's best known celebrity and a statue of him in the main street watches over the town. It's said (by people who are probably drunk and are very ill-informed) that his ghost appears at Uralla landmarks, and a selection of postcards has been issued in which his eerie face can be found hidden at each of these attractions. Browse these postcards and find Captain Thunderbolts likeness in each one. Click (or press if you're on a tablet/phone) on his face when you find him, and you'll be presented with a new postcard. It's said that the person who finds his ghostly face on all of the postcards will be given the directions to a secret stash that may or may not have been hidden by the man himself.

The staff at the Armidale Information Centre recommended visiting the museum here so before we went in we made a quick find on this cache.
Thanks MattyRx.
Well the cache was in good order and found easily enough in the second place I looked. After this I did a few more caches in the area, finishing with a backward tour of the countryside thanks to geoart.
And now it's the fun time of writing all the logs (or copying and pasting them to be entirely honest) whilst having a bite to eat and a local pale ale at the Top Pub whilst sitting beneath some interesting photography art that reminds me of where I'm headed - Byron and its hinterland. Okay I'm not heading there exactly but that's the topic of all these art pieces. Apparently the photographer was a local that lives there now. Sounds familiar.
Thanks for another one MattyRx..

So as we flicked through the postcards Thundy was once again riding the range and doing that disappearing act he was so clever at. What an awesome cache! {FTF} at 1.56pm. TFTC MattyRx.
