We'd heard about this spot a couple of weeks ago whilst attending an event in Hobart. With today's beautiful weather it seemed like a good opportunity to get up here, and it certainly was. Stunning views from the top! The walk up was rather relentless but a mixture of being out of shape and having a stinking cold is probably to blame! The cache was full of water but the logbook was fine. We left the cache out to dry for an hour or so whilst finding the trig, the GC cache and having lunch. TFTC!

"Hello Tassie Trekkers thank you for the cache.
Another walk up this hill.
When I first opened the logbook I thought I was the FTF as the FTF page was blank.
unfortunately when I turned the page I found others had found it.

Mr W today decided to walk up to the top of Mt Herringback to find this cache, find the nearby GC cache and the trig at the top. Walking time return was around 1.5 hours but he was there longer taking in the view. Mr W could see as far as Arm End, Opossum Bay but not quite back to our house. He had a chat with a telstra worker who had driven to the top. The road was frosty as a cold, clear morning. Enjoyed the walk. Great views. TFTC

Hi Trekkers
I have been up this flamin' place twice before (1-06-2010 to get Swampy's cache; 8-08-2017 to get the Trig) so today was the third for your cache
It took 51 minutes to ascend and 25 minutes to descend
Definitely am finding the "ups" harder to ascend now than I used to - the "downs" are not so bad!!
Arrived at GZ; making a quick and easy find
Signed the log and Sainted the cache at 1223 hours
As the crow flies; it was 1.25 km from where I parked the car to the cache
It took 7757 steps to cover a walking distance of 5.63 km burning 1160 calories in the process
TFTC, the exercise and the recovery drinks at my RSL on my return to Huonville
Cheers

I've been up this hill twice before - once for Swampy's cache, and the other for the exercise.
Both times I climbed the ladder onto the roof of the TFS building to look at the amazing views of mountains near and far.
This time it was for exercise, cache, trig point and to get a look at the fires.
It was a hot day, and I was sweating quite a bit even before I got to the steep bit.
At the top, I found the cache quickly (*FTF*) and then proceeded on to the trig point and fire building, where it turns out they've removed the ladder, so I had to make do with views through the trees of the devastation to the SW. Perhaps saddest was the billowing cloud behind the first line of fires, which I think is the rainforests in the upper Huon burning
I did see an eagle soaring around the top, and heard what may have been chicks nearby.
Then back down on a surface so steep, loose and dry that I thought I might have to sit down - several slips almost ended badly, but I made it down in one piece.
Thanks.

Found as Beta tester - so not claiming first to find
Really enjoyable trip up the hill with Mr TT (AKA Lance Armstrong) - I suggest drug testing is present at next event
