Illaroo

~ I L L A R O O   ( S O U T H ) ~

Why have one campground, when you can have two!

. That's right - if you want to spend a night at Illaroo, you can choose between the Northern or Southern campgrounds. This cache is hidden at the southern site.

Another very quiet spot, with plenty of room to park. The beaches here are beautiful, but like most of these quiet spots - they are unpatrolled. The cache ls located on a small lookout overseeing the ocean.

This cache is part of the Clarence Coast Secluded Secret Spots tour - a series of nine traditional geocaches of various shapes and sizes and a single bonus Earth(like)Cache that can be found by visiting the cache page and answering a few questions. The caches are all at Secluded Secret Spots, meaning that most people visiting the area don't find these particular locations, or they pass them by. They are all quiet locations perfect for some alone or couple time, but also perfect to let the family run round and be themselves. It would be very surprising to find someone that doesn't agree that these areas are beautiful.

We had a good look around, but we had no luck today. Now that we have done a few in this series I feel like we know what to expect.

There is a pretty new lookout here now, so we suspect the cache may have disappeared with the old lookout when it was replaced.

We will be back at some point no doubt.

Well what an expedition. Advised mates going for a walk. Met one on the way so he turned around. Couldn't find a track & attempt to get over the rocky point failed. On way back saw a NP sign with an arrow pointing in the right direction. Off we went, past a goanna, up a huge flight of steps, over puddles to arrive at a camping area with numerous 2 wheel drives. Could have driven. One of the campers gave directions to the road & upon finding t he cache, off we went
The container's lid wouldn't open so wrote name on lid. Walked 12768 paces so good exercise. Thanks.

Aw, man! I just saw this log (26/01/20). I'd forgotten to "update it later" as I just read. Problem is, I can't remember the experience anymore. I do know that this series were all fantastic. Love these caches. Thanks MattyRx

Most of my life is spent avoiding conflict. I hardly ever visit Syria.
