Description
Minnie Water |
This is one of the older fishing settlements on the coast, due to good anchorage in the shelter of the southern reef, and the presence of permanent water which drains across the beach. .The beach is over a kilometre long and essentially consists of two parts. The northern half, up towards Rocky Point, cops the force of the ocean (and the associated thrills and dangers of the surf zone), whereas the southern half lies sheltered by the reef, and is used to launch fishing boats. This cache is close to the water, just north of the only shop in town. |
This cache is part of the Clarence Coast Secluded Secret Spots tour - a series of nine traditional geocaches of various shapes and sizes and a single bonus Earth(like)Cache that can be found by visiting the cache page and answering a few questions. The caches are all at Secluded Secret Spots, meaning that most people visiting the area don't find these particular locations, or they pass them by. They are all quiet locations perfect for some alone or couple time, but also perfect to let the family run round and be themselves. It would be very surprising to find someone that doesn't agree that these areas are beautiful.

Logs
We found this one on the ground in the bush. When we picked it up a few ants created out, but when we tapped it on the nearby fence, a while colony emerged. After signing the log we removed the majority of the ants and replaces the cache in a spot more fitting of the hint.
Then we went down to the beach and the kids spent some time trying to dam up the flow of water in the little stream.
Thanks for the cache!

Aw, man! I just saw this log (26/01/20). I'd forgotten to "update it later" as I just read. Problem is, I can't remember the experience anymore. I do know that this series were all fantastic. Love these caches. Thanks MattyRx

‘What’s a couple?’ I asked my mum. She said, ‘Two or three’. Which probably explains why her marriage collapsed.
