Description
A telephone booth, telephone kiosk, telephone call box, telephone box or public call box is a small structure furnished with a payphone and designed for a telephone user's convenience.
Such a booth usually has lighting, a door to provide privacy, and windows to let others know if the booth is in use. The booth may be furnished with a printed directory of local telephone numbers, and a booth in a formal setting, such as a hotel, may be furnished with paper and pen and even a seat. An outdoor booth may be made of metal and plastic to withstand the elements and heavy use, while an indoor booth (once known as a silence cabinet) may have more elaborate architecture and furnishings. Most outdoor booths feature the name and logo of the telephone service provider.

I wonder if it is ever used...

Although Ross is off the highway, it has 2 wonderful bakeries and clean public toilets, so worth a visit.
Snapped this working phonebox whilst caching in the area.
Suprised they have 2 in the one spot here.
Must be a hot spot for telstra.

Thanks for the Locationless Cache JohnoMawbs )
The area around this phone box is pristine. The lawn is mown, edges have been whipper snipped and not a piece of rubbish in sight. I think the locals take pride in what is the only phone box in the area.
Thanks for the locationless JohnoMawbs.....
Unlike a previous find, this one takes coins. 50 cents will give you 10 minutes to Australian mobiles. The booth is nothing like your description & offered me no shelter when it started to rain. The only thing waterproof I had on were my shoes. This locationless brought to memory the old red phone boxes that had two steel buttons A & B. There was a way you could get free calls. Further along the time scale my son, who was at TAFE, would phone me using a public phone (without putting coins in) & could get one word in before being cut off - Dad. I'd then go & pick him up.
Several years ago I caught a train to Berry & as I walked past the booth sunlight reflected off some silver coins. As I bent down to retrieve them I saw a $5 note. Paid for the days travel with a small profit.
Thanks.
Anyways, thanks JohnoMawbs for setting up this fun locationless - enjoyed spotting this phone booth and taking out of the ordinary and making it into a cache!
Cheers

The active phone box is in the main street, and a very busy tourist destination. Glad we took the pic as it paid off for this find.TFTC
