On our Cape Byron walk, we found this quickly - this sort of hide has become known to the team as a 'MattyRX beach hide', but took a few minutes to tap it open. As always in great condition - TFTC!

Another bold 'in ya face' cache. Miss E tried to get this one open but it was a little hard for her so I had to do it for her.
We parked here and walked out to Cape Byron from here. There was some complaining to start with but they soon forgot about that and enjoyed the scenery,especially the crashing waves.

There's beautiful people everywhere here, even at 7.30am. Maybe, just maybe, that's the key to getting and staying beautiful. I need to rise early and go walking, running, surfing, snorkeling, swimming, whatevering at the crack of dawn. To be honest I don't think anything can bring this bod back to its former glory. haha. But I can work on my attitude toward life, self and others. That's certainly got a whole lot more beautiful in the last 12 months but still has some ways to go.

I was lucky to find a parking space almost right on top of this cache. I only needed to wait for the super early morning surfer at tge car beside me to finish packing and leave. It was a quick easy find after that.

It really is a beautiful area here. It's just a shame it's so crowded all the time.

twas a lovely day today so I decided to get amongst it. after what turned out to be a shamelessly misadvertised and definately dissapointing round of "baked" eggs in bangalow (should've known better) KTB and I decided to do something we rarely do... head into Byron.
God. it feels like the last time I was in Byron was for a free Wolfmother gig at the beachy a few years back where the singer was drunkenly slagging offghe audience and had to be carried out over the shoulder of a bouncer when he jumped into the crowd swinging, boy that was a laugh, but I guess completely irrelevant in this context so I digress...
was smashing a few beers walking though the conservation area nearby and happened to spot this fella tucked away. said to ktb well bugger me that looks like a cache. haha yep it sure was. this is now my second accidental mattyrx find. cheers mate, a cracker of a spot innit?
it's a shame I didn't think to check out the app because I was just down on the rocks at the most easterly point having a cheeky one and missed your cache there. looks like it's on the list for next time.

Thought I'd perfected opening these but couldn't get this one to open and had to call in reinforcements.
The beautiful people were not out today but then it was spitting. Perhaps they turn ugly if they get wet!!!!

Day 75 Mainland trip
Out and about caching around Byron Bay with Tassie Trekkers and this was one we found. This type of hide is just so good, it is in plain sight and secure and no one is none the wiser except the seeker. A bit windy and wet today but still plenty of muggles around. TFTC

Caching in the area with whitewebbs on a wet and cloudy day and this was one of the caches we found. Some surfers catching the waves here. Made a quick find of a familiar MattyRx cache.

1Minniemoo, Nyssaflutterby, some munchkins and I set off on a roadtrip to Ballina for a weekend.
After dinner we decided to go for a drive. Last time we were here it was so crowded we couldn't get a park, this time there was nobody around!
Possibly as it crazy windy here!!
It didn't take long for 1MM to spot something tucked away, yay a GCA FTF!

Well it looks like the crazies I hang out with are going to get me stuck in to GCA caches after all. We were on a girls' weekend away in Ballina and surrounds for some GC adventure, and the nutters that we are refused to be put off by a little old cyclone. Needing to get out tonight, we had decided it was a good time to target the Byron Bay lighthouse, and the Eastern most GC cache. After all, last time we were this way we couldn't get within cooee of these spots for all the muggles abounding the place. But tonight, under cover of darkness, and with cyclonic winds bashing the coastline, we were fairly sure we would have these spots to ourselves. So having completed the nearby GC cache, we then contemplated collecting the new Eastern most GCA cache, but even us crazies aren't THAT crazy, as a sudden crashing of waves and intensifying wind squall had us running back to the car.
However, we were still happy to head for this one, which would be a little more sheltered at least, and also was yet to have a find on it. Arriving at GZ, there was one other car near here, but our search was safe, and it wasn't long before we had a cache in hand. And with that, a blank logbook. WOOHOO! my first day of GCA caches and my first ever GCA **FTF** to boot! Thanks for the cache MattyRx.

Last time this merry bunch of cachers attempted to find any of the caches in this area we were muggled out completely. Who'd have thought Byron Bay on a Sunday could be so busy

With this in mind we made sure to pick our timing a little differently. Like at night with a cyclone off the coast!!!

After finding the most eastern GC we thought very hard about trying for the new even more eastern and more extreme GCA cache. Then we thought that we didn't want to die tonight so decided to leave it for another time.

Instead we made our way to this more sheltered and easily accessible one. Thanks to the weather and darkness all the beautiful people were nowhere to be seen.... just three crazy people instead. A bit of a poke and prod around the area and 1MInnieMoo spotted the cheeky container. It fits right in! We were all excited to find a blank logbook as well Woohoo! My first GCA **FTF**
