Description

Take a photo of a clothes peg different to ones already shown in the gallery

A quick and easy cache for most, although lots of people no longer bother to hang their clothes out on the line.

My earliest memory of clothes pegs were the dolly pegs, so called as we often drew faces on them and attached material for dresses, and they became our playthings. They were used to peg clothes on the long wires, stretched between two poles, and raised up by means of two long poles called clothes props.

Then came the traditional clothes pegs as we recognise them today with the spring in the middle.

The Shark Tank recently invested a lot of money in Hegs, pegs with extra slots to also hold two coat hangers which could contain shirts etc.

To log a find you just need to take a photo of a clothes peg, different to any others already logged.

I have not included a picture of the most common types to make it easy for someone

In line with amendments made to requirements for listing and finding a Locationess geocache, this geocache has been reviewed and found not be in line with the listing requirements.

https://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Locationless_cache
Armchair style Locationless caches where the finder is not required to explore the real world, identify a location and accompany the "Find" with photographic evidence are no longer accepted.
A Locationless cache listing must require the finder to locate an object or perform a task in the real world, collect the co-ordinates and log the find with accompanying photographic evidence.

The geocaching community would like to thank you for listing this Locationess geocache and congratulations to all that found this locationless geocache.

As the geocache no longer meets the requirements we will archive the cache listing.

When I checked my bucket of pegs i found four that were different from all the previous logs. I will add this one to the gallery. Very Happy

Don't think these pegs would be very practical for hanging anything other than doll's clothes on the line but they are pegs!!
When we first started geocaching I used to handmake fridge magnets and add a ladybird and magnet to these small craft pegs and leave them in caches.
We rarely do swaps anymore unless our grandson is with us. Perhaps it's time to get creative again!
Thanks.

I thought I might add our Elf Pegs.
Well, actually they are the pegs +Wife uses to hang out the Christmas Cards but they are small enough for Elves clothes.

GCA 2,365. Haven't logged a Locationless for a while - so many new ones !

When I saw this locationless it reminded me of the first girlfriend I lived with many many years ago. I was quit amused the first time we did laundry - and she used Bulldog Clips (!!) as pegs ! I must admit I've never seen this since.

Anyone ele seen this before ?

TFTC !!

Yesterday we spotted this colourful bunch of plastic pegs in the supermarket. Haven’t seen any quite like this before.
Can’t see any like it in the gallery. Very Happy
Thanks Cybergran V for this cache.

Having become frustrated with plastic pegs becoming brittle, our son searched and found a source of stainless steel pegs which are nothing like anything else logged for this cache so far. Three photos have been added to the Gallery: the packet in which the pegs came; one of the pegs; and the pegs in use on the clothes line. Time will tell if they are better but that will depend on the quality of the stainless steel. Thanks Cybergran V for the cache.

our assortment of pegs that we use in our caravan. Today was easy day. We are on our way to Queanbeyan Ozmega event. TFTC

I have just one of these old pegs left in my peg basket....but I suspect that the plastic pegs would not last as long. I am in my sixties and these are the pegs used by my Mum when I was a child.
Many thanks for the cache CYBERGRAN V ClappingDancing

Gotta hand to the CO on this one, I think the trick with this locationless is to get in early. Currently in the middle of vintage, so most of th epegs are currently being utilised drying out the gloves for this coming weekends picking. A multitude of colours in this one, so we will claim the green plastic pegs as our claim. Thanks for the locationless Cybergran V.

Love this one since I drop a peg scout in every cache I find big enough for them to fit... Very Happy

My favourite kind of pigs are the sort we used to sell as a fundraiser at scouts. They were bright pink so if it fell on the ground, you wouldn’t lose it in the grass. They were double ended so that you could peg fine items with one end, and flip them over to use the wider end to peg the heavier items on the clothesline.
The best thing about them is that they are the easiest pegs to use, if you only have use of one arm. It’s possible to hold the item on the line and peg it at the same time, which is extremely difficult to do with the traditional clothes pegs with a spring in them.
