Description

Small Sistema, in (black) crochet camo, UP a pine tree

I came out here for a walk, after going for a group walk on the centenary trail, then having coffee, and I saw a climbable tree, and when I got back to my car I drove back up here and sat in my car and crocheted the camo, and hid this cache... Then found out there was a GC nearby, that was just a bit too close to hide another GC cache here... and tge tree wouldn't get up and walk a bit further away... I guess it isn't an Ent ... But it is very unlikely anyone looking for that will find this one by mistake, and probably equally unlikely that someone will search in the wrong spot and find the other one on the ground, and think it is this one where even the name says it is up a tree... (besides, as soon as i list this I am going back up the tree to write the number and name on the log book :) I was out here for an Art exhibition today, and decided to come and check it (I never got around to coming and getting it, because I had decided to make it a GA hide, and then life got in the way) ... and yes, it is still there. Shouldn't be too hard to climb up, if you are into climbing trees... just don't stand on any too small and/or dead branches... might be a challenge if you don't like Heights though :)

Found with Goldenwattle. A high climb. TFTC Aykayem.

I spotted this cache 'way up there' in 2019, but I don't climb trees, so didn't attempt it. Today with Decrypter I returned. He did the climb, commenting that this is higher terrain than a three. Quiet high; six or seven branches likely high. TFTC Aykayem.

No luck for us here today

Found with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10N on a day caching around the ACT. A pity this wasn't quite the challenge that was expected though I doubt anyone was really sorry. See their logs. TFTC AyKayEm ClappingClappingClappingClan CerberusClan CerberusClan Cerberus

#GA5059 - 09:45; A caching mission with Sol de lune and Smittengranny was planned a couple of weeks ago and the day had arrived. We had a heap of GCA caches and trigs along with a smattering of GC caches as well. The mission continued around Belconnen before heading off for Hall where this was our first stop. We headed in armed with a TOTT, only to find the cache somewhat more accessible than we expected. Signed the log and replaced as found with a bit of additional cammo, as we weren't sure where it may have fallen from. TFTC Aykayem Very HappyClan Cerberus

Out for day of caching with LuckyL10n and Smittengranny grabbing a few GC and GCA caches. Turned up at this one, armed with a TOTT but alas that was not required as we found the cache on the ground. So the log was signed and the cache replaced at the base of tree, covered with a bit of natural camo.

Thanks for the cache Aykayem.....although I think we got it easy. Very HappyVery Happy

My final day in the Queanbeyan/Canberra for the ‘Clear Waters’ event. Sad Unfortunately I need to go as I have other things on starting tomorrow and for the rest of the week. Sad On the other hand, I have loved my few days away, catching up and meeting people, attending my first mega, visiting places I have never been before and the time away from home. Big Grin Today’s mission is to collect most cache types in a day. I started with the Memorial Virtual cache out the road. Next was the Mega and Lab caches. Then it went WherIGo, Letter Box, Earth, Multi, Trad, Mystery and to finish off, a Trig-Point. That is 10 cache types for me today. 9 GC types and 1 GCA type. Big Grin I loved all the challenges that the lab caches provided me. Also I loved meeting new people and catching up with others and collecting many TB’s. Big Grin I am also thankful that I didn’t need to do that tree climb in the middle of the showground again. I DID IT IN 2016 but even after showing them my log, no one believed me. I also avenged pass DNF’s while here at the mega. Big Grin After I had finished my caching trail for today, I ended up getting home by 7pm today. I would like to thank all CO’s for the caches I found and for the allowing them to bring joy to me and others. Big Grin TFTC’s and TFTE! Big Grin

decided to get the two tree caches up this way today. Fitzy, MinnieK and Mini-MinnieK were up for it, so the four of us headed out this way

I'm not a good climber, but MinnieK is. with the FTF still available, she climbed the tree and found the cache.

TFTC!

Fitzy_1965, death_killer & I drove in just for a GC event and maybe a cache or two afterwards.

Whilst at the event, andrewbt asked us if we wanted to come with him to do a couple of tree climbs. We were keen if someone else was volunteering to climb trees for us.

So as I had climbed Aykayem's nearby sappy tree climb, I was in the mood for another. But wasn't so keen if we couldn't see it first. I thought I saw something but it wasn't until andrewbt mentioned this would be a *FTF* that I made the decision to just go for it. Shoes came off....and up I went. Found the cache right where I thought I had seen it. Was a bit precarious when trying to remove the cache from its camo and again when putting it back but definitely a fun and rather easy climb both up and down.

Thanks aykayem. I enjoyed this one (not so sappy compared to the last).
