Description
Take a photo at a Festival celebrating another country’s culture
As Australia becomes more multicultural, many immigrants celebrate their national days and other festive occasions, gathering together their own people, and sharing their food traditions, culture, and displaying their costumes, with us.
Take the opportunity to accept their invitations to participate, they are usually very happy occasions.
In the last month here in Shepparton we have had the pleasure of attending the Albanian Festival, an Italian Festa, and a Malaysian wedding, all of which were very different, and most enjoyable.
On each occasion we ate the food from each diverse menu.
Congratulations to OldSaint for FTF

On the 23rd of March 2019 I attended the 'Holi on the Beach - Festival of Colours' event in Semaphore, South Australia. The Holi festival, is vibrant and filled with beautiful colours. Holi is considered as one of the major festivals in India. It is celebrated in the month of Phalgun on full moon day according to Hindu calendar.
This festival also denotes celebration due to good harvests and land fertility. This colourful festival also celebrates the eternal love of Radha and Krishna.
The festival of colours teaches humankind to transcend above the caste and creed. It is a festival to forget old grievances and meeting others with great warmth & high spirit. This festival begins with lightening of bonfire on Holi eve. Then the next day, people play Holi with different types of colours, abirs and gulals. They greet each other with Shubh Holi i.e. Happy Holi and send warm wishes of the festival.
This was my first Holi festival, we spent the day dancing, laughing, learning traditional dances and having everyone around us cover us in different colours. It was a wonderful festival with some wonderful people.

Rated: for Overall Experience
We were entertained at the Shepparton Showgrounds by folk dressed in crazy costumes singing and playing musical instruments at the Italian Festa this weekend.
We had Parmesan Spaghetti: spaghetti boiled, dipped into melted butter, spices added, then rolled in the centre of a Parmesan cheese wheel while it was still hot, and it absorbed much of the cheese flavour.
And, of course, had gelato for dessert.
