Kororoit Creek Walk - A view of the bridge

Take an afternoon and have a walk along Kororoit Creek in Caroline Springs and enjoy the wildlife including tiger snake, eastern blue-tongued lizard, common snakeneck turtle and eastern brown snake. Sighting are now rare with development driving most of the creatures away from the built-up areas.  The start of this path is new, having been completed in 2018 along with the rather substantial bridge which you can view from this location and joining the older creek paths together. A small geocache hidden at a logical place is where you can start or end the Kororoit Creek Walk trail of geocaches. You are looking for a 200ml sistema container which has been painted to match its surroundings at this location.

About Kororoit Creek
The Kororoit Creek rises below Mount Kororoit, northeast of Melton in the north western outer suburbs of Melbourne. The creek's headwaters are north of Sunbury at approximately 400 metres (1,300 ft) above sea level in Ordovician geology. The creek flows generally south by east and passes over the volcanic lava plain of western Melbourne to its mouth at sea level, north of Altona and emptying into Altona Bay within Port Phillip. The creek is joined by one minor tributary as it descends approximately 407 metres (1,335 ft) over its 52-kilometre (32 mi) course. At the outlet in Altona Bay, the creek winds its way through the Altona Coastal Park and then the Jawbone Marine Sanctuary Park, where it enters Port Phillip.
From east of Sunbury, the Kororoit Creek makes its way down through many suburbs towards its mouth, including the towns and suburbs of Rockbank, Caroline Springs, Burnside, Kings Park, Albanvale, Deer Park, Cairnlea, West Sunshine, Ardeer, Albion, Brooklyn and Altona North.
The creek is traversed by the Melton Highway, east of Melton; the Western Highway and the Western Ring Road, at Ardeer; and the West Gate Freeway and Federation Trail at Brooklyn. The Kororoit Creek Trail runs along the banks in the lower reaches of the creek.

Thanks for the hide, all looks to be in good condition. Car has gone in for its service today so I thought I'd tackle some of the caches in the area

I decided to get out and about today.

Threw the bike in the car and headed out to find a few caches in the area here.

Only 3 dnf's of the 20+ that I managed to put my name on.

A couple of FTF's too.

This was nicely hidden.

An easy find and cache was fine here.

TFTC Very Happy

This was the last cahe in the series we had left to find. The dstreet was full of construction vehicles and workers but the cache was well out of sight of all the activity.
Thanks for this cache and the series caughtatwork.

Cache lives up to its name. The bridge is right there and you can't miss it...just like the cache. Soon had the log signed, cache replaced and it was time to get back to the car and head back to catch up the family.

Thanks caughtatwork. A neat are to walk around and today was a good to be out walking around. Hopefully others will soon be out to try the series as well.
