Description

A mystery surrounding Bony Books

The coordinates are incorrect, but will bring you close to the area where you will locate the cache, after you have solved the puzzle.

Arthur Upfield is my favourite author and, from a very young age, I’ve always enjoyed reading his Napoleon Bonaparte mystery stories.

Bony, as he is known in the books, is a well educated aboriginal detective. The stories are set in different locations in Australia, and Arthur Upfield manages to bring the country alive whilst you are reading, with his knowledgeable description of the areas.

Solve the puzzle then find the cache

Logs

15-Aug-24
On a previous trip to Nagambie I looked at this solved the puzzle and that's as far as it went.

Sadly the day was not mine to enjoy a Bony Book smiley.

Today I trekked to Shepparton, on return i thought well why not.

A long time between drinks here.

I approached with anticipation will the elusive log still exist.

So without giving to much away I fumbled my way and bravely asked expecting the negative.

As it turned out the lovely new cache guardian on duty just happened to be here when the cache was set up.

Give me a minute she said I think you may be in luck.

Scrummaging around for around 5 minutes she eventually returned with the prize!!

We had a little banter and I added my name to the log Dancing

I left and was on my way.

Must pick up a Bony one day.

Well we arrived at GZ 25 minutes late, and it was closed, a kindly lady came to the door and opened up. We asked the question and was given the reward. Surprised to see a FTF so we claim it at 12.55
Thanks granny for a great puzzle and a they are all good reads.

13-Jul-19
A good puzzle that took a lot longer to work out than it should have.
Unfortunately I will be passing through on Monday but will be unable to retrieve the cache on that day. Bugger Brick Wall

My first attempt at an Unknown cache and it has been an interesting experience.
The cache was produced from a love of Bony Books that I shared with my mother, and was inspired by the cache container which belonged to her and came into my possession when she passed away in March, and is now contained in a place that she visited frequently.
I hope you have fun with this puzzle. I have had more problems getting this cache to publication stage than any other.
