out and about with Lil Rafa caching for my holidays and to get shots for the Battleship GCA game. This was on the list to do TFTC TNLN log dry. a cool dry windless day.

Another Sunday trip to the Northwest coast to grab GCA caches with Oldsaint. Certainly, a day that I kept Oldsaint moving the whole day as he collected 50 GCA caches during the day. Personally, I think I found slightly more, including a couple of puzzles that I had solved but not collected.
The trip started at a leisurely 6.30 am and while going over the highland route we started our first of three major GCA trails at 10.30. The trip over the highlands was worth the detour, with a First to find at the "Bridge over Ouse" and a WhereIgo that I had solved for the central highlands a long time ago. The three main runs we took on today, were the "Challenging" Sailboat Geoart, the "tricky" F Fairway and the "very clever" Lighting bolt caches. I have to say that the lighting bolt caches had a cache design I had never seen before, so was an absolute highlight.
Thank you for placing these caches for our enjoyment

After a visit to the COs gadget cache we stopped for this one. A clever construction but we spotted it easily as we approached. We felt a little odd just hanging out here as we signed the log. The hardest thing for us was to get back over the road. Cars came from all directions, one lady even mouthed 'are you alright?' We made a run for it eventually.
Thanks Trimbletas

Quick solving of the puzzle and quick find on way to North West thanks Trimbletas for cache
Finally had a chance to rectify the small issue with the cache container. Container has been replaced and shall be a tad easier to remove and replace.
Had this one solved a few days ago but our first attempt to find it was abandoned due to so much passing traffic.
Went back yesterday afternoon, thinking AFL grand final day might be a better time. Less traffic and a quick find was made but extracting the container was a bit of a problem. Eventually got it with the aid of some tweezers though.
Thanks.

This afternoon after we finished work we decided to make a last minute dash on some caches to get our find numbers up for the blitz game. In total we attempted 8 cache find and we managed to find them all
This is one I’ve been meaning to do for a while but just hadn’t had a chance to get back here. On arrival a quick find was made but the end had fallen off, so we notified the cache owner who said he was on his way out after dinner to fix it. TFTC

We were in the area today so stopped to collect some info for a puzzle then Mr Y'stassie dropped the other y'stassie to look for this cache as he had solved the puzzle earlier. The GPS wanted Mrs Y'stassie on the other end of the object. after spotting nothing she began a circuit of the area and spotted a cap on the ground. On closer inspection she spotted something out of place and used her trusty extraction tool to remove the container. All was well with the contents but the cap may need a spot of glue.
Thanks for a nice little puzzle and hide Trimbletas.

Hi Trimbletas
A quick "raid" on the NW Coast to look for GAs proved to be a long day
I travelled just short of the 900 km
My total finds cost me 11034 steps; 1825 calories in walking 8.58 km to make them
While looking for another cache with which, I was having a little difficulty I decided to head down and look for this cache
Felt a bit conspicuous while making the find - got some strange looks from passers-by
Made a quick find and then decided to move on
Always love the Turners Beach Area - fond memories of visiting my Uncle Charlie (Dad's brother) who managed the Bowls Club there for a few years
Had a great night at a Crown and Anker night with the Turners Beach Cricket Club; one of the teams we played against while I was living on the Coast; had a couple of mates who played with the Beach
Had some good fishing trips there too
(No pics: no location give-away)
TFTC and cheers

We had planned to come North to visit family in Launceston over the weekend but decided to take the long way detouring via Sisters Creek and Tullah to collect 2 dragon zones we did not have. Along the way we targeted a few caches and we had stopped at "It may cost you a pathtag" where we met the CO. We got a reminder about a nearby cache, so we did one more on the way to Launceston. A very clever hide. There were so many caches we went past as time was limited, but it gives us a reason to return. We travelled over 700 km and are still not home. TFTP

Out and about on a lovely winters day to do a bit of caching. Needed a find today to fill a gap on our DZ calendar so targeted this one. Felt a bit conspicuous at GZ, just how many cars can drive by while you conduct a search, don't they all have somewhere else to be??? After a short search we found a great little cache just where it was supposed to be. TFTC
I saw this come up last night and solved it quickly. I had a family event in Penguin but knew I would not get to it until the afternoon. Would it last that long?? Yes a FTF was mine at 3pm. A well hidden cache. TFTC
