Description
Have your photo taken at an umbrella stand
There are many types of umbrella stands around, but you don’t see them as often as they used to appear in homes.
Nowadays you are more likely to see them at commercial places.
The challenge here is to find a designated umbrella stand, not just a conglomeration of umbrellas, or a stack of umbrellas put out to dry. There is already a cache for that.
Some hat stands double as umbrella stands as well.
You may log more than once, provided there are at least two more logs between yours.
Here is your challenge for one of the U letters needed for AUGUST Spelt in August.

A trip to the local Chemist Warehouse to take advantage of the Boxing Day sale.
I noticed this gem outside the front door. I'm not sure they would be impressed if I placed a wet umbrella in there whilst doing my shopping.

Finally for geono., let the Cacheopoly game begin.....
This umbrella stand is privately owned so the above coordinates are for the general area. The umbrella/hat stand is an antique. At one stage it was used as a telephone stand for an old black bakerlite phone where you had to ring the Exchange to make a call. I'm just glad this cache involved looking for an umbrella stand and not a telephone stand.. imagine how hard it would be to find one of those these days...

Mrs y'stassie had an appointment in town today. As she was walking back to the car she spotted an umbrella stand at the entrance to the local antiques shop. She is well known here as her younger daughter has furnished her embroidery room with purchases from Leven Antiques. It was indeed a cast iron English Hall/Umbrella stand circa 1875 with several old/veteran umbrellas. After an explanation of why she wanted to take a photo the owner was delighted to oblige and even rearranged it. maybe someone might see it here and decide to make an offer. Several photos have been added to our log.
Thanks for this cache Cybergran V Mrs y'stassie always enjoys an excuse to wander around this quaint little shop.

I was given this old hallstand by my Nanna back in the early 1980s.
It has the umbrella stands on either side, and it is used for our big umbrellas. Sadly, you don't see many of these around anymore.

I spotted this umbrella stand in Leura NSW. As I’m not very good at selfies, Miss Chief- my caching teddy- is in the photo.

A pretty basic stand labelled in case you are not sure.

I don't have a umbrella stand at my house anymore, I stick to fold up umbrellas these days and just chuck it in my glove box BUT I knew that my mother had one, so on my last visit I remembered to take a photo of it, it is really a hall stand and has coats hooks and a shelf for keys and other stuff that usually gets lost, so I hope this will do, it did surprise me to realise that it actually had an umbrella in it. I won't post the co-ordinates, but I will say it is in a Launceston suburb. TFTC.

Whilst browsing around the Beechworth Museum I noticed these antique items.
The first was a combined top hat and umbrella stand.
The second was a designated umbrella stand, which was being well used on this rainy day.
