Description

Take a photo with an animal sculptured in wire

Whilst visiting the SCRAP exhibition at Swanpool yesterday I saw some excellent examples of animals created with different types of wire.

Some were made with chicken wire, others with barbed wire, and still more with different gauges of wire, all bent into shapes of various creatures.

This is not to be confused with other GA locationless caches of things made from scrap metals, chainsaw art, or sculptured or welded materials. The item in the recognisable shape of an animal must be made entirely of some type of wire.

We are just catching up on photos taken during our recent northern island excursion and noticed that we had not logged this locationless cache. While caching in Clare in South Australia we came across a mob of sheep being looked after by a farmer and his dog. All the objects were made from wire. A number of photos have been added to the Gallery, with our GPS in at least one of the images. Thanks Cybergran V for an enjoyable locationless cache.

While visiting the Grampians a few weeks ago we came upon this little wire sculpture in the tiny town of Willaura a few kilometres south west of the Grampians in Victoria.
It depicts a sheepdog watching over a few sheep. Geohubby was asking me to take the photo quickly as it was raining at the time

Attending the Swanpool Creative Recycled Art Prize where all items on display were made from wire, two life size fighting kangaroos made from barbed wire were very impressive.
But my favourite was the fox and chickens display made from chicken wire which I found very amusing.
Looking forward to seeing what other folk can find.
