Description
Warning: Geoguessr is addictive.
I like Geoguessr a fair bit, it's a great concept. Sometimes you feel like it's droppped you in a familiar place, but it's thousands of km away. Othertimes, you're thinking "that's there?"
Other times, a wild guess will put you close to where you are, others, not so much.
To log this cache, play Geoguessr by going to the following site (or clicking here), and get a guess within 500km of the location you're placed at.
Copy and/or screenshot your result and log away!

This was great fun
Doing a little research I managed to get within 142km of the photographic location. It also had a beautiful history of the old church that was at the Location.
Thanks for the Locationless Cache - truly awesome fun

For someone who enjoys studying maps, this is a really fun exercise. My first go I thought the scene I got looked very much like we have in Australia so I put the pin somewhere in north west NSW. I was right about Australia but about 700km off ... the road I was looking at was in Qld. Onto the next round and luckily, there was a sign just down the road which enabled me to work out that I was looking at a road in northern Portugal ... and my quickly placed pinpoint in that part of the world (I didn't realise at that stage that you could zoom right in and get GoogleMaps-like detail) put me 105km from where it was supposed to be. Good enough for me to qualify for this cache!
I tried to play a bit more (indeed, on my next go I found the exact spot I was supposed to) but the game wanted me to pay money to go on ... nah!

I'd heard of Geoguessr before but never really neglected to try it out for myself.
This locationless was a great incentive to give it a go and I was intrigued from the beginning.
My first two attempts on the free map got close to 500 but not quite close enough.
It was on the third that I managed to nail a sweet 4.5km difference!
Thanks to AndrewBT for this great locationless - I really enjoyed it!

No luck with attempts on a previous day but first time today got within walking distance.. that is if I knew where I was going, weather permitting, etc. A fun idea for a cache that we hadn't heard of before and easily addictive. TFTL andrewbt.
Took me a few guesses over the last couple of days (limited guesses as a guest

Well this has been torture for a few weeks.
I was sure of the country on a few.
Yep I was correct but only a 500km out.
I even got down to 532km with no joy.
Then with a little time on my hand I gave it a go today.
MMMMM that looks like Australia, maybe WA no QLD or maybe NSW.
Right I'll guess outback QLD.
Bingo what pot luck only 211.5km away.
Glad that little bit of fun is over with.

This was a great lunch time waster at work today. Got within 155km which while not as good as others I was pretty happy with. Tftc

I tried when this came up while I was at work but I was thousands of kms out. Tried again at night and used a few strategies and eventually got it down to under 20kms - a very close result. Very addictive game. TFTC
I can see how this could be addictive. It took three attempts to get within the required distance. Thanks for the fun andrewbt.
I decided on taking a look at some locationless caches today and came across this interesting one. After I found out where to sign up as a guest, I started my guessing. To start with I had an average of about 8000kms away from the actual location. When I got around to my 18th attempt, I found my self within 65kms of where the photo was actually taken. TFTLC and another for me.
I did get a bit lost to start with and couldn't even get the right continent, but then I stared looking at the pics a bit more and got to find a few hints, this one was still a bit of a fluke but I got there in the end. Thanks for showing me this interesting and unusual website.

I started on this a few hours ago but work got in the way.
When I returned to it I managed to hit a bit over 250km. Worth trying again. A couple of educated guesses later I stumbled upon 23.3km.
My thanks to andrewbt for this interesting and addictive locationless cache.
