I donned my traditional geocaching attire and headed off for a game of netball. No, wait. Um.
Anyway, ran into a group of bushalkers and fobbed them off with "don't ask".
What a labyrinth of trails. Found the wrong one, found the right one, found the cache, took a pic. Thanks cpickup.

Decided to have a look in this area today, ended up finding 3 out of 5! I was hoping to pick up some unloved points but was beaten to it by 1 day!

Nice easy find & found an interesting way back up again, with quite a few "is this really a path?" moments.

On my way home from clearing out a bit more of my GC 16km radius when I remembered a handful of GCA caches in this vicinity. This was my third stop and I ended up with 3 finds out of 5 attempted. Found the little trail that took me right to GZ where I made a quick find. Nice to pick up 18 months of unloved days.

A nice easy find after missing Azaria nearby. TFTC

23-Dec-15
I came looking for the Aiken Trig and thought I would also look for some of the nearby caches. Lots of small over grown tracks off the main trails. Got to GZ for this one and an easy find. TFTC.

It was quite fun ascertaining which of the many winding trails to take. Almost like a maze. The actual find was nice and easy too. Thanks for the cache.

This was fun. The tracks are fairly overgrown and the light was going. SL TNLN TFTC

Had to find the right track in for this one from the Party Box, but seemed to go OK and came to a junction. A little further on and there was the cache. Had a couple of whipbirds entertaining me while signing the log. Thanks Normanhurst Scouts.

This was the last of the local GCA caches that I had neglected for so long.
An easy and enjoyable walk along the track and in the end GZ showed itself right where expected. The container is still in good shape with just a tiny little bit of damp in the log book, but nothing to worry about.
Loved the walk down to the cache and the amazing variety of wild flowers along the track.
Thanks for s great spot.

I left the Scout Leader bushwalking folks as the wadnered back up the hill to hunt down this cache. Despite the dark this was a quick and easy find, before racing off to find the rest of the group again.
TNLNSL, thanks for the cache Normo Scouts!

best wishes,
Wal

Came up from the south - Penguins Party cache - through the little twisting trails to the item mentioned in the clue. Hard to miss. The cache was retrieved, and had had a visit from the Normo scouts in February.

Very wet inside the cache so I emptied out the water and put the log book into the bag. Thanks scouts.

Geokid7 and I decided to find the "right 3" of the Normanhurst 5 after his cricket game at Pennant Hills Oval 4. The side track is a little overgrown due to all the recent rain, but didn't slow us down too much, and once at GZ this was a quick find for GK7. TNLNSL TFTC!

A nice quick find in the obvious spot. Found while my son warmed the bench up an age group for soccer nearby.

TNLNSL. TFTC.

Found with blossom* on a very enjoyable bushwalk

I made up a nice bushwalk from North Ryde to take in a few caches up this way. What a lovely walk! This cache was quite an adventure as there are so many tiny tracks around here. For some incredibly lucky reason, the only tracks that showed on my OSM free maps on my gps were the ones that took me to and from this cache!! But I was pretty pleased that my gps had our route saved becasue I could easily have got lost otherwise!! TFTC

Today I set out to find the five Normanhurst Scouts GCA caches in Pennant Hills Park.

This was my fifth find of the five; a narrower track than some of the others but it leads to a maze of great walking / riding tracks between the fire trails. Spotted a fantastic old gnarly scribbly gum near the cache - check out the photos.

Overall a great morning; all five caches are easily found within an hour (I beleive Alfieboy did them in 30mins!) and well worth the trip. Thanks again Normanhurst Scouts - the five survive in great knick.

And another close one in my challenge of sweating and running around as fast as I could. Hadn't been to the gym today, so this made up for it. Wish I had my runners on though Doh 4 Caches, 1 Trig all in 29m50s from car to last cache. Was found in the likely spot, with a bit of a crawl needed, hehe. not much camo, but you don't really need it for where it is. TFTC.

There are many little side trails in this part of Pennant Hills Park and you just have to follow your GPSr readings until you find the CO's clue. It's not a difficult cache, and only about 250 metres or so off the main trail. You might want to leave a few 'dirt arrows' or piles of stones to make sure you can find your way back to the main trail easily . . .

This bushland is all part of Lane Cove National Park now and a beautiful area, quite suitable for a family outing with the geokids. The bush seem quite clean and there are no dangerous drops near this particular cache.

Published coordinates are accurate but the clue will be very helpful to you in your search. Container and contents are fine. TNLNSL.

Thanks to the Normanhurst Scouts and to NorthOfTheSouth for his maintenance. Much appreciated.

After finding Azaria this one was too close to leave even though it was getting close to sunset. Lots of tracks round here but found the right one that got us to GZ.

Cache was well hidden, lucky I had TLM Junior with me to do the retrieval.

Doing our weekly pre-netball cache, went for a wander in the bush. So many tracks to follow but it looks like someone has marked certain intersections with pink flagging tape that almost lead to the cache. A quick find as it was in plain sight from about 10 metres away. The log was a bit damp but drying out and okay to write on. Gave it a new ziplock bag to keep it dry. Scouts seem to be finding this now as there are quite a few entries that don't register here. Took 0, left 0. Re-hid cache a bit better. Thanks!

3rd find after Azaria. Crashed my way carefully to GZ only to find there was a track leading there. D'uh.

Another nice area on our loop of the area.
Took badge left ball and keyring.

As I was nearby I had to come in to find this one. I wandered down a fire trail or two, along a narrow track or two and was soon at the cache. A very pleasant walk.
