Decided to have a look in this area today, ended up finding 3 out of 5!
spent a good 15 mins looking around, GPS jumping about a bit. Got a GZ of 2m pretty close to a likely spot, (see pic) but if that's where is was - its not there now.

On my way home from clearing out a bit more of my GC 16km radius when I remembered a handful of GCA caches in this vicinity. This was my last stop and unfortunately I came up empty handed. Spent at least 15 minutes looking around some obvious spots but its been nearly 2 years since the last find. Time to head home with 3 out of 5 found.
My GPSr compass was going crazy around the GZ and couldn't figure out which direction to point me so I ended up having a wide search area. Found it after a couple of tries. Thanks

Had to find my way across from Leaders Loot, which proved interesting. The tracks I was on kept going parallel to the cache before heading back in the right direction. Then ended up at a clearing at the end of the fire trail and finally a track was heading the right way. As I made my way down to the cache I was entertained by the sounds of drumming and a brass band somewhere off to the west, don't know what was going on. The iPhone initially took me a bit past the hide, but after looking at the hint and checking a few spots had it in hand soon enough. Then it was time to find my way back to the car and off to Hornsby to pick Anna up after work. Thanks Normanhurst Scouts.
I am not sure why it has taken so long for me to come back to this area and find a couple neglected GCA caches.
This one turned out to be harder than I expected, I found the coords to be about 10 metres off, so spent some time enlarging the search area. Eventually I found it in the sort of hide I hoped it would be.
All is well with the cache and likely to remain so.
I include my GPSr reading as to the location, for what it is worth.
Thanks for the great walk from Pennant Hills station.

The last of the 4 scouts caches in this park, I walked here from Loot, taking all the back trails. Soon saw the cache peeping out from its hide. Signed and replaced in a more concealed fashion. Thanks scouts.
An easy find in an attractive area of bushland. The cache is nicely hidden (if not what I was expecting - something more aligned to the name ie something black or orange), and the contents are dry.

A nice quick find in the obvious spot. Found while my son warmed up for soccer nearby.

I made up a nice bushwalk from North Ryde to take in a few caches up this way. What a lovely walk! We walked along the various little tracks around here and luckily came upon GZ without too much trouble. TFTC
Today I set out to find the five Normanhurst Scouts GCA caches in Pennant Hills Park.
This was my fourth find of the five; a nice clean cache down a pretty bush track. I finally twigged that I am fullowing in the footsteps of Alfieboy who seems to have done the same five caches a few weeks ago.

And the last one in my race. ran though the trails like I was on some X country race. Not one snake seen today (so no locationless cache to log I got to GZ, and gps got me to 2m of cache and there it was. 4 Caches, 1 Trig all in 29m50s from car to last cache (this one). SL TNLN. Gave myself a drink and walked most of the way back to the car. total time 38m46s, car to car. Oh yeah I timed myself Nice bunch of caches in this bush. TFTC

This one has been coming up on the radar as one of our closest not founds. Had a quick look for it a few months ago and today located it in a few minutes. Nice one.

A nice walk in the spring sunshine in the pine woods, on pine needles, reminded me of my childhood on another planet, in another galaxy, long, long ago.
Cache was well-hidden but not particularly difficult. Published coordinates were accurate. Container is still fine and the contents are dry.

Nice area that's well suited for a family geo-outing with the geokids. Easy entrance via Pennant Hills Park, with lots of parking. I guess it was less than a 400 metre walk from the where I left the GeoBuru.
Many thanks to the Normanhurst Scouts and NorthOfTheSouth for this one.

Again waiting for netball to start we wandered down to this one. Across the old "model aircraft" field as it was years ago - good regrowth - and then on to find the cache which was the best hidden of the caches so far. Scouts had found it and written in the new logbook. We added our signature and took 0, left 0. Thanks to NorthOfTheSouth for maintaining these caches. I can't see any harm in it.
Replaced the log book in snap lock bag.
(Note: this series of GCA caches [Plane Crash Black Bx, Azaria & Leaders Loot] are not mine but I'll do some maintenance as I regularly run through here and the original owner doesn't seem to be maintaining them).

Last one for the day in this area.
Again this cache was wet and I spent some time drying the log book so I could sign it. I recommend that the present container be changed to a more waterproof container.
Fox baiting happening in the area so NO DOGS.

Great area, nice spot for a cache. Log book (and everything else in the cache was wet through), couldn't sign the book. TFTC!

Nice spot so we sat for a while here and had a snack after finding the cache.

I was in the park anyway, so headed over to grab this. Unfortunately since it was placed in September 2007 and now it took a bit of moisture and the log was saturated. I tucked it away as it was laying out in the open.
