Description

...where it's Christmas all year round...

This secret little beach is often missed by tourists visiting the Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads area. It's called Christmas Beach, or Harry Hills Beach - depends on who you ask, but the destination is the same.

People have commented that it's "the best tropical beach you'll ever see". Those people may or may not have been to Bora Bora though. You can laze in the gentle waters then retreat to the shade of the trees growing from the golden sand. There are never too many waves, so perfect for kids and everyone gets a tree for shade. Plenty to go around. It can get a little busy on warm Sundays, but parking is usually OK. Some days there'll hardly be a soul about.

The beach is hidden away, hence why it's not as popular as the other beaches. Make your way to Ocean Shores, drive right to the end of North Head Road and park your car. Follow the track past the toilet block and in a few minutes you'll be at the beach, and more importantly - the cache. Because that's what we do.

You're looking for a regular sized stash, tucked back away from the beach just a little bit so you should be able to search without interruption. Contains a logbook, pencil and some swaps.

This Cache was hidden for the January 2020 dragonZone Game.

Exploring the area in search of GCA caches and trigs today. Your cache was in our target area and one we found along the way.

Nice hide - Cache and contents were in excellent condition.

Many thanks MattyRx for placing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience today.

I was driving around Byron and Brunswick today to find a few caches. I was intrigued by the name of the beach. Although I enjoy Christmas, once a year is just fine. Driving along North Head Road can be quite hazardous. The pot holes are hard to avoid because they are numerous, deep and wide. Slow is the way to go. I took a walk through the bush towards the beach. It was close to sunset at this stage. I looked at the hint and searched for a tree to fit. The cache and contents are in excellent condition. I enjoyed visiting a new location and finding the cache. Thanks MattyRx

Out for a walk this afternoon at high tide. I ended up doing this section of the walk twice because I knew there would be good swag, brought swag with me, but left it in the car. Those GOT stickers kind of got my attention. Haha.

Cache replaced and ready for next finder. Now to enjoy the rest of this lovely afternoon with a walk along the breakwall and beach with these gorgeous colours from the off-white sands to the deep blue in the afternoon glow.

I've watched people swim across the channel here. I imagine it could make a nice shortcut to work in summer if you lived over this side and worked on the other. Haha

Thanks for another great cache.

I told my doctor I broke my leg in two places. He told me to quit going to those places.
