Description
There was a Rifle Range at the end of this road. The land was owned by the Dept of Defence.
In March 2012 the Dept of Defence decided it was going to sell this area of Mt Lofty.
The Defence Housing Authority now plans to develop the area for a masterplanned residential community comprising 342 lots over a 52 hectare portion of the 379 hectare site.
Some of the lots will be retained by DHA on which homes will be built for Defence members and their families, with the remaining lots to be made available for public purchase.
Development commenced early 2017 with community engagement, with the Development Application lodged in June 2018.
As at Late 2019 there has not been any start to the project.

However, the locals are resisting, saying the area should be left alone.
At some stage this road may have to go to make way for the development access road.
