Description

Find consecutively increasing numbers, with no letters in between on a vehicle numberplate

I have seen other number plate locationless caches, but not this one.

Some of you might strike it lucky and have them on your own numberplate.

012 would be correct but 910 would not.

Enter as many times as you like but you cannot use the same numberplate if it has been previously logged.

CONGRATULATIONS themd on a very quick FTF

I can't believe how hard this cache was to find... Modern NSW plates have a different format so it's only the older and personal plates or other states that have three numbers. It took a lot of number plate scanning before I saw one. It didn't do any good as it was travelling at 100kph and was gone in a flash. I'd finally resigned to the fact this wasn't going to be a find for Cacheopoly when I finally spotted another. And it was stationary! TFTL Cybergran.

Travelling to a job for work, was following this vehicle on the Bass Hey. Burgandy Mazda BT-50.

This locationless find has been a long time in the finding. As it is currently Lifeline Bookfest, we made our way to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre to attend the bookfest. Just as we were parking our car, Mrs GT54 found what she has been searchig for. A car number plate with consecutive numbers. 678

After seeing a numberplate (ZKU 678) that satisfied this cache and photographing it I hopped into my car, drove around the corner and spotted this one.
As I couldn't park nearby I had to drive further up the street and walk back. This was completely against the current Melbourne COVID-19 restrictions but in my excitement of seeing this numberplate (the second one for today) I forgot my obligations (at least I remembered to wear my mask).

Thank you Cybergran V for this cache and my guilty smile for today. Wink

Last week I was visiting the local Blood Donor Centre. On exiting I noticed an interesting number plate on a car parked across the road.
I quickly took a photo and hopped into my car to start my drive home.

Thank you Cybergran V for this fun cache.

Being in Stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne now I was not expecting to find another numberpate that satisfied this cache.
Yesterday while on my allowed visit to the supermarket to get necessities for my family I was surprised to park opposite this car. Surprised

Thank you Cybergran V for this cache and putting an unexpected smile on my face. Smile

As we've driven around I have seen plenty of numberplates that would fit this cache but never been quick enough with the camera.
Today we were in Ulverstone and the car next to us fitted the requirements so loaded the groceries and then grabbed the phone for a photo.
Pretty easy one in Tasmania where the numberplates have a letter then two number then two more letters.
As there are next to no interstate cars over here at the moment this will have to do.
Thanks.

I have been looking at numberplates on my daily walks for the past three months I have seen descending numbers, mixed up numbers but no ascending numbers.
Yesterday I popped up to the local supermarket with my son and couldn't believe it when we saw a car with the required numberplate.

Thank you Cybergran V for this challenging locationless cache.

This one had me in total disbelief, we went out for a drive with our grandies this morning, they had our trailer on the back, and low and behold, there infront of us was the number plate I needed 1TNX 234 ::-))))
Yes, our trailer is quite often parked at their place as they have more room than us Smile) DancingClappingDancing

Tried to find a plate with 3 numbers however I've had to make do with only two. So many states now have a letter in with the numbers..

Thanks Cybergran V....it's a 12 from me.

Looked out the window and saw this van parked in the driveway. Couldn't believe my luck

When I saw this cache come up I thought "I'm not settling for just 2 digits" and soon enough in random traffic spotted 2 suitable number plates in a row. I was even thinking, hmmm, would 123456 be better than 567890 or vice versa?

Then my wife was giving me a lift to the train station and I remarked on the very deep red colour of the number plate in front of us. Only then I noticed: xx-2345. Awesome, snapped a pic (from the passenger's side seat, I wouldn't do this if driving).

So, 4 digits in a row. I WIN! Game over. LaughingCoolThinkClan Cerberus

Living in Tasmania has many advantages including the opportunity to log this cache. About 10 yeras ago Tasmania introduced a new number plate format . That means that there are 100 possible permutations of the digits, of which 9 meet the requirements for this cache (01, 12, 23, 34, 45, 56, 67, 78, 89) meaning that you have a 9% chance of finding a complying numberplate. In states where there are three digits in the number plate, of the 1000 possible permutations, only 8 meet the requirements - 0.8%. In states where there are four digits there are 10000 permustations but only 7 meet the requirements - 0.07%. Many trailers on long haul vehicles have 5 digits - the chances of meeting the requirements with such are trailer are 6 in 100000 - 0.006% (Tattslotto looks like better odds. So if you cannot find a complying number plate on the northern island, come to Tassie.

This afternoon as we came back from Launceston, we saw all 9 possible two digit permutations, some on multiple occasions. The photo added to the Gallery is the number plate H 78 GT which was on car in the carpark as Mr y'stassie waited for Mrs y'stassie to finish her embroidery workshop. Thanks Cybergran V for the interesting locationless cache.

I was looking for a different numberplate combination when I spotted this today and reckoned it would make a good locationless.
Looking forward to seeing who is the lucky FTF cacher.
