Description
This cache is hidden on the way up to Stanley Hill on Cape Barren Island. The best access is to follow the track leading up the hill behind the golf course. Stanley Hill is easily seen just south of the air strip.
This area provides stunning views of Thunder and Lightning Bay
Cape Barren Island/Truwana part of the Furneaux Group, is a 478-square-kilometre (185 sq mi) island in Bass Strait, off the north east coast of Tasmania. The population of the island is approximately 80 according to the locals (as of 24.10.2019)
Australia's only native goose, the Cape Barren Goose, was first documented by European explorers on this island. Sadly I didn't see any of these distant relatives today.

Logs
The visit to this island has long been on my must do list but after a bit of planning we managed to pull it off today, we were lucky that Hobart Show Day falls on a Thursday and one of only two flights to the island is on a Thursday.

Mr W had a fantastic trip flying with a goose and a rat into Cape Barren Island. It was a glorious day, perfect for flying, sight seeing and of course caching. As Mr W was with the CO when cache was placed he is not claiming first to find. TFTCÂ
